I made a list of all the flowers, herbs, and plants in the garden this morning. We have so many new volunteers popping up that it's becoming hard to keep track of them all.
My flower lady is so sweet. She has a unique way of looking at the garden. She refers to the plants as people, and whenever a new one appears, she'll tell me, "A new person showed up."
As I was walking through the garden, I realized how often people ask about certain plants and what they're called. Even I occasionally have to stop and think. So I decided to start a little project and add plaques throughout the garden to identify everything.
My hope is that it will make the garden more enjoyable and educational for visitors, while also helping those who may be interested in growing some of these plants in their own gardens.
Now I'm hoping the javelinas appreciate the project enough not to trample the signs.
