If you're trying to keep senior living within a specific monthly budget, you deserve more than generic lists and "starting at" prices.

July's theme is Knowing What You're Paying For. That means getting realistic pricing—not marketing numbers.

The right plan starts with communities that fit your budget and your loved one's care needs, while also understanding what additional services could affect the monthly cost. No hidden surprises. No unrealistic expectations.

At Assisted Living Locators, I help families build a personalized shortlist of communities based on care needs, lifestyle, and budget—complete with an all-in estimate framework so you have a much clearer picture of what monthly costs are likely to be before making a decision.
When everyone understands the financial picture from the beginning, families can focus on what really matters: finding the right place with confidence.

If you'd like to explore realistic options that fit your budget, I'd be happy to help.

For those of you who know me, you know I spend my days helping families navigate some of life's hardest transitions. One of the diseases that has impacted my own family the most is Alzheimer's.

I lost three of my grandparents to this devastating disease. I watched the confusion, the heartbreak, and the gradual loss of the people we loved long before we had to say goodbye. It's something no family should have to face alone.

Today, I'm asking for your help.

💜 My Walk to End Alzheimer's team is just $9 away from reaching our $2,000 team goal! Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund research, support programs, and resources for families who are walking this journey right now.

Personally, I'm also working toward my $5,000 fundraising goal, and I'm currently $3,009 away. It's an ambitious goal, but I believe in what this organization is doing, and I believe in the power of people coming together for a cause that touches so many lives.

If you've ever trusted me to help your family, referred someone to me, worked alongside me, or simply been a friend, I would be incredibly grateful if you would consider:

💜 Joining my Walk to End Alzheimer's team (you can walk wherever you are!), or

💜 Making a donation of any amount.

Every dollar truly makes a difference, and every person who joins this fight brings us one step closer to a world without Alzheimer's.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your continued support—not only of me, but of the millions of families living with Alzheimer's and other dementias.

Together, we can bring hope where it's needed most. The walk is October 10, 2026! Hope to see you there!

The move is over... but the first 90 days matter just as much.

Many families think the hardest part is choosing the right senior living community. In reality, the first few months after move-in are when it's most important to stay informed.
As care needs change, it's worth taking the time to understand:

✔️ Are you receiving the services you're paying for?
✔️ Has the level of care changed—and if so, why?
✔️ Are there charges that could have been avoided?
✔️ Does the care plan still reflect your loved one's actual needs?

The goal isn't to question every decision—it's to make sure your loved one is receiving the right care at a fair cost.
As your Senior Care Advisor, I don't disappear after move-in. I'm here to help families navigate those first 90 days, answer questions, and provide another set of experienced eyes so you can feel confident you're getting the care—and value—you expect.

Because peace of mind doesn't end on move-in day. It begins there.

Did you know you can continue to have an advocate after your loved one moves into a community?

Month one is famously messy. Deposits, community fees, last utility bills, and new service arrangements can pile up fast while reimbursements or home-sale timing lags behind. The mistake families make is pretending that gap doesn’t exist. A healthier approach is naming a bridge upfront, defining the timeframe, and setting a reassessment date. A bridge isn’t a lifestyle; it’s a ramp. When you know what you’re paying for and when your money is arriving, you stop negotiating with anxiety and start making decisions with a plan you can actually stick to.

If you hear vague answers about what triggers a level change, treat that vagueness as a warning. If someone says they “don’t really do all-in estimates,” that often translates into surprise billing. If the pitch is heavy on amenities but light on staffing, night coverage, or incident communication, you’re not getting the information that protects your plan. Knowing what you’re paying for means listening for clarity, not charisma. A community that can explain its pricing and communication rhythm in plain language is often a community that runs with fewer surprises, both financially and operationally.

Today was the Christmas in July Health Fair! Sponsored by me! Hosted by The Fountains At La Cholla and to Z Health Fairs !

Thank you to all of the vendors who attended, as you can see I wasn’t one of them. But I left them my FatHead to take pictures with! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you all being there! All of your tables and outfits were so festive!

Special thank you to Tammy Cornett, she set up my table beautifully, she was Sandra Clause and she took on the burden of hostess with the mostest! You rock and you were an the best Sandra Clause ever!

I received pictures all day and it made it a little easier not being there. It looks like it was a great success.

Hopefully I got everyone tagged, if I missed you leave a comment! 🎄❤️🎄❤️

If you’re balancing work, kids, and a parent who needs support, wasted afternoons are expensive. A smarter approach is to design your search like a project: request all-in estimates before tours, bundle visits geographically, and block time after each tour to write down impressions while they’re fresh. Decide what you won’t compromise on, including safety markers and an all-in budget, and let everything else be optional. Knowing what you’re paying for isn’t just about dollars—it’s about protecting your limited energy and directing it toward decisions you can afford and defend.
