Dear Friends and Patients,
After many years of caring for you and your families, I am writing to share some important news. I have made the decision to retire from the practice of dermatology, and my last day seeing patients will be June 30, 2026.
This decision has not been an easy one. Serving as your dermatologist has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to care for multiple generations of families, celebrate your successes, support you through health challenges, and develop relationships that have meant more to me than words can adequately express. For the trust and confidence you have placed in me, I will be forever grateful.
As I considered retirement, my foremost concern was ensuring that my patients would continue to receive the same level of compassionate, personalized, and high-quality care that I have always strived to provide. Choosing the right physician and practice to continue your dermatologic care was therefore one of the most important decisions I have made.
I am pleased to share that Heights Dermatology, under the leadership of Dr. Alpesh Desai, will continue caring for my patients. Dr. Desai and I have known each other for more than 30 years, dating back to our time together in medical school.
Throughout our careers, I have had the opportunity to observe his dedication to medicine, his commitment to clinical excellence, and, most importantly, his genuine concern for the well-being of his patients.
Many of you may know that approximately seven years ago, when I transitioned my practice in New Braunfels, Texas, I selected Heights Dermatology because of their shared commitment to patient-centered care.
During the years since that transition, I have remained confident that I made the right decision. As I now retire from practice, I have once again chosen Heights Dermatology because the values that have guided my career—compassion, integrity, accessibility, and exceptional patient care—are the same values that define their organization.
I want you to know that this decision was made with great thought and consideration. I would not entrust my patients to a physician or practice unless I had complete confidence in their ability to provide outstanding care. Dr. Desai and the team at Heights Dermatology have earned that confidence.
While I will certainly miss seeing patients, I take great comfort in knowing that you will continue to receive exceptional dermatologic care. My hope is that you will welcome Dr. Desai and his team as warmly as you have welcomed me throughout the years.
Patient records will be in the custody of Heights Dermatology beginning July 1, 2026 for the resumption of care.
As I begin this next chapter of life, I want to thank each of you for allowing me to be part of your healthcare journey. The relationships we have built over the years are among the most rewarding aspects of my career. Whether I cared for you once or for decades, please know that your trust, loyalty, and friendship have meant more to me than I can adequately express.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your dermatologist. It has truly been an honor.
