September is Recovery Month—a time to recognize that recovery is possible, and that a person’s past does not have to define their future.

Recovery looks different for everyone. At its heart, it’s about finding your way back to yourself, rebuilding what was lost, and discovering what’s possible on the other side.

In this video, GRAND’s own Skills Development Professional, Vanessa Crouch, shares her powerful journey—from prison to pursuing her master’s degree with the goal of becoming a therapist.

Her story is a reminder that where you’ve been doesn’t have to determine where you’re going.

Recovery is possible. And there is so much life waiting on the other side.

Every Life Matters. There Is Hope. 💜

Overdose can happen to anyone, and knowing the signs could help you save a life.

Someone experiencing an overdose may:
• Be unable to wake up or respond
• Have slow, shallow, or stopped breathing
• Make unusual gurgling, choking, or snoring sounds
• Have blue, gray, or pale lips or skin
• Have very small, pinpoint pupils

If you think someone may be overdosing, don’t wait. Call 911 and stay with them. If naloxone (Narcan) is available, give it as directed.

If you or someone you know is struggling with substance use and ready for help, GRAND Addiction Recovery Center has open beds available now. You don't have to wait to take the first step toward recovery.

Recovery is possible. Hope is here.

The Caring Van is getting some more miles! 🚐💙

Recently, the Caring Van made a stop at Tulsa Tech’s Back-to-School Barber Bash, helping connect the community with valuable resources while families received free haircuts and school supplies.

The Caring Van brings mental health support directly into the community by providing screenings, crisis intervention, and connections to resources people may need.

We’re proud to keep showing up, meeting people where they are, and helping make care more accessible- one stop at a time.

Stand Up. Speak Up. Build Others Up.

We’re proud to join the Miami Police Department and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Ottawa County in talking with local kids about bullying, kindness, and the power each of us has to make a difference.

It’s never too early to teach advocacy. Helping children recognize when something isn’t right, speak up for themselves and others, and stand up for what is right gives them the confidence to use their voices and make a difference in their communities.

Thank you to the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma Early Childhood Program for inviting us to be part of this important conversation.

Our kids have the power to help shape the culture around them; one kind word, one good choice, and one courageous voice at a time.

Stand Up • Speak Up • Build Others Up

As we head into September and recognize Su***de Prevention Month, we want to remind you that mental health support is available.

In this video, Integrated Team Manager and therapist Kaycee Allbritton shares what her years in mental health have taught her and why seeking support matters.

Her message is clear: we need to remove the stigma, shame, and barriers that can prevent people from reaching out for support.

You don't have to navigate it alone. Support is available. Please visit https://www.grandmh.com/services-programs/ for more information.

As Oklahomans head to the polls tomorrow, we want to encourage voters to take time today to learn about the candidates, issues, and state questions that will appear on their ballot, and make informed choices.

As a state-supported behavioral health provider, we believe it is vital for all Oklahomans to understand how public policy decisions influence the care and well-being of individuals, families, and communities across our state.

Quality behavioral health is essential to Oklahoma. Access to mental health and substance use treatment services helps children succeed in school, supports families through difficult times and reduces strain on emergency rooms, law enforcement, and other community public services.

At GRAND, our mission is simple - To improve Life. We believe that improving life for Oklahomans means advocating for policies that strengthen access to care and promote healthy, thriving communities.

The clients asked. The staff delivered.

Recently, a group of our ARC residential clients decided they wanted to have a water balloon fight. But they didn’t just ask for one; they went all in.

They created a petition and collected more than 100 client signatures, developed the game rules and participation guidelines, organized a cleanup crew, recruited staff to donate water balloons, and presented a fully developed plan to make it happen safely.

And honestly, we’re glad they did.

Because recovery doesn’t always look like therapy groups and treatment plans. Sometimes it looks like practicing leadership, teamwork, advocacy, organization, problem-solving, accountability, and healthy social connection.

This was a great example of clients taking ownership of something positive, working together, and using their voices to make something happen.

Recovery is about building a life worth showing up for, and sometimes, that life includes a pretty epic water balloon fight.

Sometimes, people don’t need to be arrested. They need someone to help.

That’s exactly what Miami Police Department Co-Responder Sarah Lopez gets to do. Through our partnership with the Miami Police Department, Sarah responds alongside officers to mental health crises, substance use concerns and welfare checks.

With years of experience in the mental health field, Sarah says no two days are the same, and she’s able to reach people who may simply be struggling and need some extra support.

We’re proud to be part of a partnership that’s helping change the way our community responds to mental health needs.
