Introducing our fifth and final 2026 Ross Family Scholarship Recipient, Daniel Ragsdale!

Daniel is a recent high school graduate who plans to attend Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology to pursue a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity.

Daniel feels that his life experiences have shaped the way he approaches challenges, developing the focus, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail that are essential in the cybersecurity field. His hearing-loss has also strengthened his resilience, patience and determination, which are qualities he looks forward to applying as he grows in his career and takes on new opportunities.

Spotlighting our fourth 2026 Ross Family Scholarship Recipient, Caisyn Schroder!

Caisyn is a recent high school graduate who will be attending the University of Central Oklahoma this fall. She plans to major in Early Childhood Education with the goal of becoming a kindergarten teacher. Caisyn has been recognized for her positive, optimistic attitude and her ability to encourage those around her. She also enjoys sharing her journey with hearing loss, using her experiences to build confidence, inspire others and create meaningful conversations.

Introducing our third 2026 Ross Family Scholarship Recipient, Jimmy Mitchell!

Jimmy is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Deaf Studies and Deaf Education at Lamar University. His educational goal is to earn his doctorate and become a tenured professor, contributing to research and higher education.

As a Deaf scholar, Jimmy hopes to help shape the future of research in Deaf Studies and Deaf Education by advancing research that better represents Deaf people and challenges longstanding misconceptions. He is passionate about strengthening research in this field while mentoring the next generation of Deaf students and professors. Jimmy's long-term goal is to encourage more Deaf individuals to pursue careers in research and higher education so that the future of this field is increasingly led by members of the Deaf community.

Introducing our second 2026 Ross Family Scholarship Recipient, Glenna Cooper!

Glenna is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Deaf Studies and Deaf Education. Her research focuses on parental decision-making, language access and educational outcomes for Deaf children and families. Glenna hopes to advance research and advocacy that strengthen educational systems and expand opportunities for Deaf individuals. Her long-term goal is to create meaningful change in Deaf education through leadership, policy, research and community collaboration.

Ross Family Scholarship Recipient Spotlight

Congratulations to Chloe Allison, one of this year's Ross Family Scholarship recipients!

Chloe is a recent high school graduate who plans to pursue a degree in Biology with a focus in Health Sciences at East Central University before continuing to the University of Oklahoma's Audiology Program. Her goal is to become a licensed Audiologist to build a career helping people improve their hearing, communication and overall quality of life.
