Wynona Townsend as we call her ma was born on May 8, 1926 in Millcreek, Oklahoma to Nadine and Turner McKinney. She left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2026. Wynona attended Mill Creek high school and graduated in 1944. She attended Murray State College in Ardmore Oklahoma in 1945 after one year. She was home sick and left to be back with her family and late 1945. She met at a barn dance the love of her life Garlen Ray Townsend they married on May 4, 1946. They moved to Tulsa Oklahoma in 1954 purchased a two bedroom house on Braden Street where they started and raised their family. Over seven years they had five children, Linda Kay Duty, Glen Ray Townsend, Bobby Dean Townsend and twins, Patricia Lee Pittman and Pamela Lou Frey in in May 1968 their daughter Linda Kay was tragically killed in an auto accident leaving behind an 11 month old baby Reigh Lynne Rochester Wynona and Garlen took her in and raised her like their own Wynona was a homemaker and partner to her husband I his remodeling business ,ironed for people ,typed cards for a company to help make a little extra money to help raise this big family of hers . Wynona was an avid flower plant and cactus collector. She had a large greenhouse at her home full of plants, cactus flowers she would roam the countryside digging up, cactus, whether it was legal or illegal she attended many cactus and plant shows where she met people from all over the United States, talking about cactus and orchids, she also loved reading flower books when she got the chance. She loved her family fiercely and protected them with everything she had. She was a proud Chickasaw Indian and loved her native American heritage. She was a Christian attended the Nazarene church and taught her children to love Jesus. Wynona and Garlen made a home where all was welcome whether you were family or friends. The door was always open for a place to stay or a warm meal or just a place for holidays to spend with people they never turned anyone away. Wynona is proceeded in death by parents, Nadine and Turner McKinney sister Mildred Dean Ratchford, daughters Linda, Kay Duty, Pamela Lou Frey, sons Bobby Dean Townsend and Glen Townsend, grandchildren Shawn, Patrick Townsend, Elisabeth Townsend, and Dakota Rochester Wynona has two living children, Patricia Lee Pittman and Reigh Lynne Rochester, grandchildren great grands and great great grands are GR Townsend and Angela, Eddie Ray Pittman and Amanda, Jodie Kay Hunt and Robert, Montie Frey Junior and Leslie, Jeff Frey and Kristie, Willie Rochester and Kristen, Kari and Clint Oare, Dusty and Cyan. lil G , Turner, Logan Bobby, Bella, Spencer, Brady, Gracie, Lily, Taylor, Carson, Makinley, Madeleine, Max and Mason In loves are Bill Rochester, Melita Townsend, Ed Pittman, and Montie Frey deceased Wynona live to be 100 years old. She lived a full life of ups and downs, tragedy, and victories. She had seen a lot and done a lot in her life but the one thing that always stayed true was the love she had for her family. May she rest in peace.

Carolyn Kay Cantrell was born August 11, 1945, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Murray and Eleanor Tyler. She passed away September 22, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 81.
Carolyn spent 53 years with the love of her life, Larry Wayne Cantrell. Together, they built a life and raised their three sons, Chris, Mark, and Leon Cantrell.
Family was at the heart of Carolyn's life. She had a special way of making people feel loved, important, and cared for. She treasured simply being together with the people she loved and was rarely without a camera when her boys were growing up. She took countless photographs of her children and family, capturing not only the big occasions, but also the ordinary moments that have now become some of her family's most treasured memories.
Carolyn was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Chris's children, Lauren, Chase, and Cole; Mark's children, Cady and Ally; and Leon's children, Josh and Jared. She was also a proud great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren: Lauren's son, Braden; Cole's children, Tess and Alec; and Ally's daughter, Maya.
Carolyn was one of five children and shared her life with her siblings, Gary Tyler, Orval Tyler, Shirley Sullivan, and Vicki Smith.
A lifelong member of Trinity Baptist Church, Carolyn's faith and church community were an important part of her life.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Larry Wayne Cantrell; her parents, Murray and Eleanor Tyler; her brother, Orval Tyler; and her sister, Shirley Sullivan.
She leaves behind her sons, Chris, Mark, and Leon; her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her brother, Gary Tyler; her sister, Vicki Smith; and many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Carolyn will be remembered not only for how deeply she loved her family, but for the way she made people feel when they were with her. She had a gift for making people feel special. The many photographs she leaves behind are more than pictures-they are a record of the people and moments she treasured throughout her life.
Her family will carry those memories forward, along with the love she gave so freely and the feeling she gave so many people-that when you were with Carolyn, you mattered.

Glenn A. Barnes, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with kidney failure. Born on July 2, 1974, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Glenn was the cherished son of Glyndola and Frank Barnes, who have preceded him in death along with his brothers, George Barnes and Frankie Weston, and sisters, Mary Lou Stringfellow and Helen Smith. Glenn's life was a tapestry woven with love, humor, and generosity. He was known for his quick wit and off-color jokes, traits that brought laughter and joy to those around him. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Glenn's willingness to share his extensive knowledge on cars and motorcycles was a testament to his generous spirit. He graduated from high school in 1992 and pursued certifications in automotive repair from Platt College in 1993 and in small engine and motorcycle repair from Penn Foster. Glenn's passion for mechanics became his career, as he worked as an automotive technician for over 20 years across various dealerships and garages in the Tulsa area. His expertise not only served his career but also guided countless others whom he taught and mentored. On May 31, 1997, Glenn married the love of his life, Arlena Johnson, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters, Rebecca and Katlyn. Glenn's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them, whether it was fishing, boating, camping, or watching football games. Glenn also enjoyed riding motorcycles until health issues curtailed this beloved pastime. His love for the open road was symbolic of his adventurous spirit and zest for life. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 29 years, Arlena; his daughters, Rebecca Barnes and Katlyn Hathcoat, along with her husband Draven; his brother, Jim Barnes; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Rebecca Sue Harley (Cook) was born on October 10, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Harold and Alma Cook. She went to her eternal home on Wednesday, September 9 while a resident of Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was married to her husband, Ronald Gene Harley for 41 years. She was preceded in death my her parents, Harold and Alma, husband Ronald, and sister Phylis Ann. She also had one brother. Becky's grandparents migrated to America from Germany. Her Grandfather was an Assembly of God Minister and his family settled in Springfield, Missouri. She made the decision to give her life to Christ when she was 14 years old and followed in baptism in a local creek. Her Grandparents had a tremendous influence on her spiritual life. Teaching her the importance of attending church and worshiping God on a regular basis. Becky was a faithful member of Crowell Heights Baptist Church for many years. Becky grew up in Tulsa and attended school there. The majority of her working years was as a waitress at Martins Barbecue in Tulsa. Becky never had any children of her own, but was like a mom to many people. Becky has many friends who will miss her but, carry many fond memories of her.

One of Jonita's favorite hobbies was painting ceramic figurines. She loved pink flamingo decor. She enjoyed shopping and watching her favorite tv programs. She loved to spoil the babies and grandkids and send them back home to their parents; she never backed down from a fight. Most importantly, she loved her husband and family. She loved taking her daughter to the Special olympics. They did this for many years together and her husband Rick right by their side. Jonita was preceded in death by Her Mother Juanita Cody, Father O.W. Cody and Her daughter Casey Cody. 3 Brothers Burlen Cody, Dale Cody, and Donald Cody. Also preceding her in death is her niece Paula Rosson.
She is survived by her Husband of 31 years Ricky Grubbs. Her 2 sisters Roxie Benjamin of Tulsa, Veva Hoh of Rowlette, Tx. Her 3 brothers; Gary Cody of Stroud, Ricky Cody of Stroud, and Danny Cody of Tulsa. Jonita leaves behind many other friends and family members who will carry on the same love that Jonita gave to those closest to her.

Derrell Joe Buchanan, 93, of Berryhill passed away peacefully September 2, 2026, with his family by his side.
He was born November 3rd, 1932 in Bixby, OK to Jimmy and Carmon Buchanan.

Derrell's life was guided by his faith in God, his love for his family and his belief in doing what was right.

He married Betty, the love of his life, on June 20, 1952. Together they raised two children: Joe and Donna. Derrell spent most of his working life as an auto mechanic.

He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and treasured the simple pleasure of having family come to visit. He was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. Time spent together as a family meant a great deal to him.

Wynona Michelle Bilby, lovingly known to most as Michelle, passed away on August 28, 2026.
A longtime resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michelle leaves behind a life marked by love, laughter, challenges, unforgettable memories, and a family who will carry her spirit in their hearts forever.
Michelle was the beloved daughter of Lisa and Sammy Kinzer and the cherished sister of Amber Duvall, Kristin Peck, and her half-siblings. She was a devoted mother to Seth Bilby and Abigail Bilby, a proud grandmother to her grandson, Emmet Akina-Reinhardt, and a loving aunt to Mirakle Knight, Evangeline Peck and Morgana Peck. She also shared many years of her life with her longtime partner, James Vann.
Throughout much of her life, Michelle faced struggles with addiction. Her journey was not always an easy one, but those challenges never diminished the immense love she had for the people around her. She continued to give what she could, love as deeply as she knew how, and find moments of joy wherever she could. Michelle was incredibly proud of her children and often said they were "the only thing I did right." To those who knew and loved her, however, she was so much more than the struggles she faced.
Michelle had a personality that was impossible to forget. She kept everyone on their toes with her quick wit, playful spirit, and contagious smile. She loved shopping and was famously late to just about everything. She enjoyed music of all kinds, dancing, good food, and embracing life in her own unique way. She could out-eat almost anyone, and those who knew her will undoubtedly smile when remembering that fondly.
But above all else, Michelle loved her family.
Nothing brought her greater joy than being a grandmother. She adored her grandson, Emmet, with all her heart. Playing with him, dancing with him, and simply spending time in his presence filled her with a happiness that was unmistakable. She would have done anything for him, and the love she gave him will remain a part of his life forever. Michelle took her role as "Granny" to a whole new level, spoiling him every chance she got, giving him his first Pepsi at just a year old, buying him anything he wanted, and proudly sharing stories about him with anyone who would listen.
Michelle was not perfect, and she never pretended to be. She was human: funny, loving, stubborn, generous, complicated, and full of life. She made mistakes, fought difficult battles, made people laugh, and loved fiercely. Her life cannot be defined solely by the hardships she endured. She was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, a partner, and a friend. Most importantly, she was Michelle.
She will be deeply missed by her parents, children, grandson, partner, sisters, extended family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Though her time here was not always easy, the love she gave was real. Her laughter will be remembered. Her silliness will be remembered. Her dancing, her shopping, her music, and her legendary appetite will all be remembered. Most of all, she will be remembered for the unwavering love she had for her children and grandson, a love she gave with everything she had.
May she finally find the peace she so deeply deserved.

Eric Richard Scism of Sand Springs, OK was born July 25, 1986, and passed away August 15, 2026.
Eric is survived by his parents, Scott & Lisa Scism and twin brother, Jason Scism. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Charles & Bernice Wilson and paternal grandparents Sharon Hendrick, Dan Harnar and Bob Hendricks.
After graduation from Webster High School in 2004, he was employed in the maintenance departments for a variety of employers. He lived with his brother in Sand Springs. Both are following in their Pa-Pa's footsteps working in maintenance.

Karen Sue Carper
February 28, 1942 - August 13, 2026

Karen Sue Carper, 84, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home on August 13, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Karen was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Agnes Ohern Stewart and Lloyd Francis Stewart. She grew up in Sand Springs and attended Holy Family Catholic School until her senior year, when she became a member of the inaugural graduating class of Charles Page High School. Karen and her classmates even had the distinction of writing the school's alma mater.

On July 1, 1961, Karen married Louis "Lee" Carper in Sand Springs. Throughout her life, she worked in many areas of accounting, but the role that defined her most was the one she held within her family and community.

Known lovingly as "Mema," Karen was a mom to many-far beyond just her immediate family. If you entered her life and she cared for you, there was always a place for you. She was a compassionate shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, and a woman whose arms and home were always open to the people she loved.

Karen was passionate about her garden and especially loved spending time at her beloved "backyard beach." She also became a somewhat unwilling collector of flamingos, thanks to the people who loved her and continued adding to the collection over the years. Those little pieces of her life, along with the love and comfort she gave so freely, will bring smiles to her family for years to come.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Sharon Baker; her sons, Stewart Carper, Scott Carper, Michael Carper, Mark Carper, and Matt Carper; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three more great-grandchildren on the way and best friend/sister Linda Casey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis "Lee" Carper; her daughter, Sheila Carper; her sister, Sandra Null; and her infant great-grandchild, Kai.

Karen leaves behind an extraordinary family, but her family was never defined solely by blood. She leaves behind countless people who were welcomed, loved, mothered, comforted, and cared for by Mema. Her open arms, compassionate heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever carried forward by those fortunate enough to have known her.

Service Information

A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Both services will be held at St Patrick Catholic Church in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
