Each year, many people ask, “What’s one of the best ways we can support Sanctuary Hospice?”

One of the greatest ways is by sponsoring Celebration Village, our largest annual fundraiser benefiting Sanctuary Hospice House.

Celebration Village is so much more than a holiday market. It’s a North Mississippi tradition that brings together families, friends, volunteers, shoppers, and local businesses, all while helping ensure we can continue providing compassionate hospice care to every patient who needs us, regardless of their ability to pay.

Judy serves our patients, families, volunteers, and staff in a way that goes far beyond preparing wonderful meals. While her delicious cooking nourishes the body, her kind spirit nourishes the soul.

With a contagious smile and a heart full of encouragement, Judy has a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for. She is quick to offer a kind word, celebrate a coworker's success, or brighten someone's day with her positivity.

The work of our dietary team can sometimes happen behind the scenes, but anyone who has spent time at Sanctuary knows just how meaningful it is. A warm meal, a friendly face, and a caring heart can provide comfort during some of life's most difficult moments and Judy delivers all three every single day.

Some ministries don't seek the spotlight, they simply and faithfully bring beauty, comfort, and hope.

For years beyond what we can count, Blooms of Grace has blessed the patients and families of Sanctuary Hospice in one of the most beautiful ways imaginable. After weddings, brides and grooms generously donate their floral arrangements, and Tina lovingly transforms those celebration flowers into fresh bouquets that fill every patient room and our common spaces with beauty and life.

Those flowers become so much more than arrangements. They brighten difficult days, spark conversations, bring smiles, and remind our patients and families that they are deeply loved.

One of our favorite memories is from years ago, watching Tina's children, who were just little ones at the time, pulling their little wagon down our hallways, delivering flowers room by room. It perfectly reflects the heart behind this ministry - quiet service, joyful giving, and love shared without expectation of recognition.

To Tina and everyone who makes Blooms of Grace possible, thank you for faithfully serving our patients year after year. Your kindness has touched countless lives, and we are so grateful for the beauty you bring to Sanctuary.

Today, as America celebrates 250 years of freedom, we pause with gratitude for the sacrifices that have preserved our nation, for the blessings we enjoy, and for the opportunity to serve our community.

At Sanctuary Hospice, we are thankful that the American dream has made room for a vision born from hope, compassion, and faith. For more than 20 years, because of the generosity of this community, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside thousands of families during life’s most sacred moments.

Thank you for allowing our mission to be a small part of America’s story.

🌟 Employee of the Month – May 2026 🌟

Please join us in congratulating Laura Hellums, our May Employee of the Month!

As one of our licensed social workers, Laura walks alongside patients and families during some of life’s most difficult moments with extraordinary compassion, empathy, and grace. She has a remarkable gift for listening, comforting, and helping families navigate the emotional and practical challenges that often accompany a hospice journey.

Beyond the care she provides each day, Laura plays an integral role in coordinating many of Sanctuary’s bereavement services. She helps organize our GriefShare program, our annual Service of Remembrance, and ensures families receive thoughtful bereavement follow-up long after their loved one’s journey has ended.

Laura is also a tireless advocate for our patients and families, connecting them with community resources, helping meet immediate needs, and making sure no one feels alone. Her kindness, dedication, and servant’s heart reflect the mission of Sanctuary in countless ways.

Laura, thank you for the comfort you bring, the hope you offer, and the love you share so freely. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of the Sanctuary family. Congratulations on being named our May Employee of the Month! 💙

We are incredibly grateful for the love and support shown by our friends at Chesterville Baptist Church.

During Vacation Bible School this year, each child was encouraged to bring canned goods for Sanctuary Hospice House. And did they!?!? The result was nothing short of amazing - 813 CANNED GOODS! What an incredible example of generosity and servant-hearted giving!

In addition, for the past 10 years, the ladies of Chesterville have faithfully donated canned goods and snacks to Sanctuary on a monthly basis. Their quiet, consistent kindness has blessed countless families through the years.

This past Sunday, office staff member, Debra Gilmer who attends the church, presented members with a Certificate of Appreciation. It was a small token of thanks for a church family that has made a Sanctuary difference. 🥰
