They weren't broken.
Last Thursday the sun went down on the Gulf, and a circle of friends learned that together.
They were running on an unattended mind... repressed emotion... and old programming built for survival.
Fear isn't a flaw. It's a system that did exactly what it was trained to do, and was never told the war is over.
So we didn't talk about the fear. We practiced what to do when it shows up.
Here's the pocket version. Ten seconds. (It's on the last slide, too. Save it.)
1. Notice the jolt. Say it to yourself: there it is. (Not "what's wrong with me.")
2. Find the exhale. In easy. Out slower than it came.
3. Return to the anchor. One hand where safety lives in your body.
Then choose what fear was choosing for you.
You can't think your way out of a fear response.
You can exhale your way back into choice.
