It has been amazing to have Yvonne working alongside Drs. Robillard and Hamel for her second clinical rotation. Local to the Central Valley, summer in October has been no surprise. She is interested in anterior segment disease, contact lenses and dry eye syndrome. Welcome Yvonne!

From no nose pads to nose pads! Our repair technician has been upping her game.

Adding nose pads to plastic frames isn’t a typical repair — most techs won’t even attempt it since there’s no built-in hardware to work with. But our repair tech didn’t let that stop her.

She figured out the entire process by hand, turning what could’ve been a “sorry, can’t be done” into a perfect fit for one of our patients.

That’s the kind of skill and patience we’re proud to have in our shop — because comfortable, well-fitting glasses shouldn’t be out of reach.

Welcome to Xiaomei, our optometric intern for this quarter.

Throughout her training, she is gaining valuable experience in diagnosing and managing a variety of ocular conditions, including keratoconus, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.

Working alongside Drs. Robillard and Hamel has sparked a particular interest in dry eye management and the fitting of specialty contact lenses, especially scleral lenses.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and playing pickleball, and finding new experiences and adventures wherever she goes!
