Today, we honor and celebrate an extraordinary woman, Deborah Marks, on her retirement after 47 years of faithful and dedicated service to the State of Alabama. What an incredible legacy of commitment, compassion, and leadership.

As Director of Human Resources, Deborah has been so much more than a leader — she has been a source of encouragement, wisdom, kindness, and positivity to everyone blessed to cross her path. No matter the circumstance, she always had a caring heart, a loving spirit, and words that could uplift even the hardest days.

Forty-seven years of service is rare. Forty-seven years of serving people with grace, humility, and genuine love is truly remarkable. Her impact cannot be measured by titles alone, because the lives she touched and the hearts she inspired will forever speak for her.

Deborah, thank you for the countless sacrifices, the guidance, the laughter, and the light you brought into the workplace every single day. You have truly made a difference, and your presence will be deeply missed.
