This is why I love doing what I do. This way of thinking feels so natural to me.

I love seeing the aha moments — or sometimes the relief — in my clients’ eyes when they realize they don’t have to follow another rigid diet or do anything extreme.

But even better is seeing the progress they make over weeks and months as they take the slower, more sustainable path of Ayurveda.

Watching their lives transform, little by little, is one of the greatest gifts this work gives me.

You may have seen the trend all over TikTok.

A few drops of castor oil in the belly button at bedtime. Claims of better digestion, less bloating, improved sleep, hormone balance, and more.

As with many wellness trends, there’s often a small piece of truth wrapped in a lot of oversimplification.

In Ayurveda, the navel has long been regarded as an important center connected with digestion, transformation, and agni—our digestive and metabolic fire. Working with this area isn’t a new idea.

Ayurveda asks, “Who is the person in front of me?”

Your constitution. Your digestion. Your symptoms. Your life stage. The season. The qualities present in your body. All of these matter when deciding whether oiling the navel is appropriate—and if so, which oil, how much, and in what way.

A simple home ritual of warm oil around the navel is very different from Nabhi Basti, a traditional Ayurvedic therapy using warm herbal oil in a therapeutic setting. They share a common philosophy, but they are not the same practice.

This is why we love using trends like these as an opportunity to share something deeper.

Not to dismiss them or blindly endorse them. But to add context.

Because true healing isn’t about collecting more hacks. It’s about understanding your body.

✨ Have you come across the navel oiling trend? Have you tried it, or are you simply curious? We’d love to hear your thoughts below.

It’s not just what you do — it’s when you do it.

We’ve all heard the advice~
🍎 Eat this.
🏃 Exercise like this.
💊 Take those supplements.

Yes these things matter.

But one of the most overlooked aspects of health is “timing”

For thousands of years, Ayurveda has taught that when we eat, move, work, and rest influences how our bodies function. Now, modern circadian science is explaining why.

Small changes in rhythm can support better energy, healthier digestion, deeper sleep, and a calmer nervous system.

That’s why I created Daily Rhythms—a practical online course to help you understand your body’s natural rhythm and build simple habits that work with, not against it.

Enrollment is now open.

When your gut feels light, your mind feels bright. Ayurveda teaches that digestion is the seat of clarity. When we nurture that flow—through mindful eating, herbs, and balanced habits—our focus sharpens. A calm, clear mind starts from a healthy gut. So next time you feel foggy, ask your gut how it’s feeling!

Stay tuned for our upcoming masterclass on ayurvedic wisdom for gut health, digestion and metabolism.

We’re excited to share a new benefit for our Abhyanga massage members ✨

Each month, members are invited to join a live group coaching session with Dr. Ram — a relaxed space to deepen your living practice of Ayurveda and receive guidance beyond the treatment room.

Think of it as “office hours” with Dr. Ram.

During these sessions we explore practical health topics, seasonal Ayurvedic guidance, and leave space for open Q&A where members can ask questions or simply listen in as others share their experiences. Occasionally we may also explore a short hot-seat coaching moment with a volunteer participant.

Ayurveda works best when it’s lived between treatments, and these sessions are designed to support that ongoing integration.

🌿 These sessions take place every second Saturday of the month and are included in all Abhyanga membership tiers.

Holi marks the arrival of spring, and in Ayurveda this seasonal transition is significant. Through winter we naturally lean toward heavier foods, longer sleep, and a slower rhythm. This builds kapha — the cold, dense, damp qualities that help us conserve energy. As the weather warms, that accumulated heaviness begins to soften and liquefy, which is why spring often brings congestion, allergies, puffiness, sluggish digestion, or mental fog.

Rather than extreme detoxes, Ayurveda recommends gradual recalibration: lighter, freshly cooked meals, a bit more spice, earlier mornings, consistent movement, dry brushing. Small, steady shifts that support the body’s natural clearing process.

If the heaviness feels deeper or more persistent, individualized support can help. Message us to learn more about our customized spring cleanse and whether it’s a good fit for you. 🌿

You cannot think your way into calm.

Shirodhara is a classical Ayurvedic therapy in which a continuous stream of warm oil is poured over the forehead and scalp for an extended period of time.

That steady sensory input reduces stimulation and signals safety to the nervous system. As the body shifts into parasympathetic dominance, mental overactivity decreases, sleep improves, and the system begins to repair.

Shirodhara is especially supportive for:
• anxiety and racing thoughts
• burnout and high mental load
• insomnia
• irritability and excess internal heat
• difficulty switching off

When the mind will not rest, the body becomes the entry point.

If your nervous system feels overworked or overstimulated, Shirodhara may be the reset it’s been asking for.
