Postpartum mood disorders can happen to any mother.
They don’t care how much you love your children, how strong your faith is, or how “good” of a mom everyone believes you are.
We have to do better.
Our mothers need support systems. We need medical professionals who truly listen. We need family and friends who educate themselves instead of dismissing the signs. We need safe places where mothers can say, “I’m not okay,” without fear of judgment.
I have compassion for Lindsay Clancy because I know how terrifying postpartum mental illness can be. I could have been one decision away from being where she is. I know what it feels like to desperately need help and feel unheard.
No mother should have to reach a breaking point before anyone believes her.
This tragedy shouldn’t only make us grieve—it should make us ask how we can better recognize, support, and treat mothers before families reach a crisis.
She deserved better.
Her babies deserved better.
Every mother deserves better.
🤍 If you’re a mama who is struggling, please hear this:
You are not alone.
You are not weak.
You are not a burden.
You deserve to be heard.
You deserve support.
You deserve treatment.
You deserve hope.
I will always be a safe place. I’ll sit with you in the darkness, hold your hand through the hardest days, and help you find the support you need.
It’s time we stop asking mothers to suffer in silence and start showing up for them.
