Welcome, Baby Girl! 🌷

We quietly, restfully and joyfully have been getting to know this precious baby the last week.

Vera Elaine joined us last Sunday in the wee hours of the morning. Born in the water, caught by mama, and adored by her family.

A sweet little chub, weighing in at 9lbs 12oz, the longest little fingers and the sweetest smile. She is calm, delicate, and strong. Our Little Swan.

Thank you for praying for us - the Lord gave ear and was gracious to us.

Me and the bump just wrapped up our last clinic day.

Midwife Laura has been by my side the last month getting to know each client and preparing to take the reins while I welcome baby #5 and take a few weeks to fully rest and recover. I returned a little too quick with my last baby and I am thankful for this opportunity to soak up a few weeks at home with our little one.

I recently had someone say “Oh, I thought you were on vacation the last couple months!” No. It doesn’t work like that. Midwifery care starts early in pregnancy and anticipates several months ahead - We are currently booked through early October. Intakes have started for Sept due dates, prenatal visits are rolling for the summer clients, and postpartum visits are still to be completed for our winter babies. I literally could not do this alone! I am so thankful for Laura and the sister midwife community I have constantly supporting me. It is a divine gift and treasure.

Keep an eye out for a special “Come On, Baby!”

Welcome, Baby Girl!

Your mama worked hard in her pregnancy to nourish her body and prepare for her home birth, but sometimes the Lord has another plan for us instead. A prenatal visit turned into a transfer for induction and a tender time of waiting for you to arrive. When you decided it was right, you moved fast. Your mother was tenderly supported by your loving father and faithful Grandmother. They both held her hands as the room filled with anticipation of your entrance. The nurses smiled and cheered her on with love and awe. Your little head emerged and then your body. Your cry filled the room and your little body was covered in glorious vernix. You have the daintiest hands that you love to fold under your chin and your family took you in finding all the family resemblance in a moment. What a sweet gal you are.

Welcome, Baby Girl! 🎀

Your mother labored with you in peace and surrender. Your grandmother looked on as your father took your mother’s hands with each contraction in unwavering support of her work. She entered the birth pool and continued her breath and movement and soon your little head began to emerge. You didn’t waste anytime entering the pool with your cord draped over your neck and the widest eyes as your mother picked you up into her arms. A surprise gender, a baby girl, to everyone’s delight and awe.
You were pink, alert, and very talkative right away. The sweetest little gal.

📢What you really need that is not on your registry 📢

It’s so easy these days to be influenced by a bunch of well meaning (maybe) moms on the internet. We buy what they say could “save our motherhood!” but it just leaves us ill equipped and fills their wallets.

✨Less is more, sister!✨

Taking a birth class, hiring a doula, having a friend set up a meal train are investments that will support you and your partner for a successful start as family. Can a Hakka do that?? 😅
