Meet Mercy Eizenga, LM
Rose City Wellness Grants Manager
& Rose City Birth Center Midwife

Mercy fell in love with all things natural after attending Bradley Method Childbirth classes in 1997 with a friend. After seeing her interest, the instructor encouraged Mercy to become a doula. During her first birth, Mercy felt called to become a , as a way to offer more choices to birthing women.

Mercy attended the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program from 2003 to 2008 while apprenticing with Gentle Beginnings Midwifery in Corpus Christi, Texas. She opened after graduating from the Association of Texas Midwives. Mercy joined up with Heather in 2022. She took a break from midwifery in 2024, but returned to Rose City for the last half of 2025.

Mercy is the mother of three grown sons and Mimi to two granddaughters. Because of Mercy’s own birth experiences, she is passionate about (Vaginal Birth After Cesearean).

When not , Mercy can be found knitting/crocheting, reading, taking her granddaughters to storytime at the library, or hanging out with her kids.

This is about how thankful and grateful I am to , the staff there, and the who essentially adopted me to pay for my expenses.

Pretty early on when I started going there, I turned them down because in my mind I was thinking that money could be used for Phoebe rather than a birth. I could just go to a hospital because I had Medicaid where it could be fully covered. But, do I fully jeopardize my birth experience to save money for the baby; or go into a hole for the birth experience I wanted. Essentially, Rose City Midwifery said not to give up on them and they would figure something out.

They were very hopeful and helpful.

I am so grateful and thankful to everyone there because the day that Robbin told me that the Thrive Sisters had paid for my out-of-pocket expenses, I was starstruck. I did not know what to say. Now with everything, being in postpartum- Phoebe is 2 months a week- I am so thankful to the people I have met on this road.

Just to have the experience giving birth I had. I finished in less than 30 minutes. I don’t have anything to compare it to. It’s been incredible. And I owe it all to Rose City Midwifery and Thrive Sisters. I really and truly do

I’m happy to share this video so if I haven’t said it to them, I am saying it now, God Bless It- I am so incredibly thankful to have been introduced to the ladies at Rose City Midwifery. It was the first place I looked into, too. I will always and forever recommend them.

I see them now for Phoebe’s pediatrician and will see them for a good chunk of mine and Phoebe’s life. I love watching her grow and having the birth experience I had- I was blessed to have this experience and it changed my life for the better.

Beyond the financial aspect, the kindness and generosity of advice and being there for me. The staff goes above and beyond and it’s the exact kind of vibe and close-knit family that I’ve been fortunate enough to spend time with.

Thank you! Again, so much, ALL of you.
