Strong Communities Begin with Connection

Mental health isn't built by one organization alone. It takes neighbors, families, providers, educators, advocates, and community partners working together.

We're grateful for the many people and organizations who joined Andrews and the UT Tyler School of Medicine at last month's East Texas Behavioral Health Summit. Working together, these men and women help create hope, support, and opportunity throughout our region. 💚

As Mental Health Month comes to a close, it's worth remembering that mental health isn't a destination we reach—it's a journey we continue every day.

Some days bring progress. Some days bring challenges. What matters is that we keep moving forward, caring for ourselves and supporting one another along the way.

Mental Health Month may be ending, but the importance of mental wellness doesn't end with the calendar. Let's continue the conversation, reduce stigma, and remind those around us that help and hope are always within reach.

No one moves mountains alone. 💚

💚 Please join us in congratulating Jennifer Berry on 35 years of service to Andrews Behavioral Health!

Jennifer began her career at Andrews in 1991 as a file clerk and was selected as Employee of the Month that same year. In 1994, she transferred to Business Services, where her dedication and talent led to numerous promotions over the years. This was just the start of Jennifer embarking on a path of self-enrichment and education that opened many doors for her at Andrews.

Committed to both personal and professional growth, Jennifer earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2006. Two years later, she was recognized as both Employee of the Month and Employee of the Quarter. In 2009, she completed her Master of Business Administration, and in 2014 she was promoted to Director of Accounting.

For three and a half decades, Jennifer has exemplified excellence, compassion, hard work, and a deep commitment to our mission. Her contributions have helped strengthen Andrews Behavioral Health and the communities we serve.

Thank you, Jennifer, for 35 remarkable years of service. We are grateful for all you do and proud to celebrate this milestone with you! 💚🎉

Andrews Behavioral Health CEO Becki Mangum presents Jennifer with a framed certificate honoring her thirty-five years of dedicated service to Andrews and the individuals, families, and communities we serve.

Mental health challenges are not always visible, and no one should have to carry them alone. A conversation, a caring presence, or the courage to reach out can make more difference than people realize.

💚 During Mental Health Month, remember that healing often begins with connection — with being seen, heard, and understood.

💚Community Connections💚

The 2026 East Texas Behavioral Health Summit brought together residents, providers, nonprofits, educators, advocates, and community leaders for a day focused on mental health awareness, collaboration, and connection.

Strong communities are built through connection — conversations shared, hands extended, and people coming together with a common purpose. Here are a few moments that captured the spirit of connection at this year’s summit.

Be sure to keep checking back here in the coming days as we share more photos and moments from this year’s event.

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

At Andrews Behavioral Health, we are proud to support veterans and military families through The Green Zone — offering peer support, counseling, resources, and connection for those navigating the challenges of military life and beyond.

To all who served, and to all who sacrificed:

Thank you. We remember you.

Not everyone who is struggling looks overwhelmed. Sometimes it’s the dependable one.

The helper.
The leader.
The person who always makes sure everyone else is okay.

Some people carry mountains for many of the people around them. But even the strongest still need someone.

During Mental Health Month, remember to check on your strong friends as well.💚

Not every struggle is visible.
Not every burden announces itself.
And not every person who smiles is okay.

During Mental Health Month —and every month— we recognize the strength it takes to keep going and the importance of making sure no one has to move mountains alone.

At Andrews, we believe strong communities begin with strong mental health and with people feeling safe enough to ask for help.

💚 If you’re struggling, reach out.
💚 If someone else is struggling, listen.
💚 Healing begins when people feel seen.
