As we wrap up this month, we want to acknowledge that September is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month.

Many spinal cord injuries happen while doing regular activities. A car accident, a fall at home, or a dive into shallow water can result in a life-altering injury.

The good news is that a few simple habits can lower your risk. Wear your seatbelt. Check the water before you jump in. Keep floors clear and stairways well lit, especially for older family members.

To our patients living with spinal cord injuries, and the families who support them, thank you for letting us be part of your care.

Join us in celebrating Jan and her incredible 30 years with TNA!

Jan is often the first voice you hear when you call our office, answering calls with warmth and care. But Jan's dedication goes far beyond the phone lines. She helps with so many things around the office, all while taking care of us and setting the standard for what it looks like to invest in people, both professionally and personally.

Tyler Neurosurgical Associates wouldn't be 55 years strong without 30 years of Jan's strength, kindness, and genuine love for her work family.

Jan, THANK YOU for pouring your heart into TNA for so long. We are forever grateful for you!

Tyler Neurosurgical Associates is excited to welcome
Dr. Luis Fernandez to the team!

A Tyler native, Dr. Fernandez comes from a family with deep roots in the local healthcare community.

He has trained at some of the top neurosurgery programs in the country. He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, completed his neurosurgical residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, and most recently finished a specialized fellowship in skull base surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.

Now he's bringing that expertise back home to Tyler. We're so glad to have him!

Some people walk into a space and just make it better. Katie is one of those people! She jumped in wherever we needed her, learned everything we threw at her, and did it all with a smile.

Now she’s off to med school, and we couldn’t be more proud of this incredible achievement and the exciting next chapter ahead of her!
