For many autistic children, museums can be exciting and overwhelming at the same time.

Bright lights. Loud sounds. Crowds. Unexpected announcements. Sometimes it only takes one of those things to turn a fun day into a stressful one.

That’s why The Woodlands Children’s Museum in Texas now offers Quiet Discovery Hours.

During these special sessions, families arrive before regular opening hours to experience:
• Lower crowd levels
• No overhead music or announcements
• A quieter, more predictable environment
• A designated quiet space if children need a break

The goal isn’t to change what makes the museum fun.

It’s to remove some of the barriers that stop autistic children and their families from enjoying it in the first place.

Accessibility isn’t always about building something new.

Sometimes it’s simply about turning the volume down.

Mattel Inc. is introducing an autistic Barbie on Monday as the newest member of its line intended to celebrate diversity, joining a collection that already includes Barbies with Down syndrome, a blind Barbie, a Barbie and a Ken with vitiligo, and other models the toymaker added to make its fashion dolls more inclusive.

🎄✨ Holiday Hours Reminder for Galliant Families ✨🎄

As the holidays approach, we wanted to share a quick reminder about our upcoming hours:

• Early closure on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve
• Closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

We will be open for normal sessions the days following Christmas and New Year’s Day, and we look forward to getting back into our regular routines with our clients!
