After multiple events of personal childhood abuse and trauma, professional trauma and secondary trauma while in the military and working in trauma medicine for 15 plus years, and many personal medical traumatic events, which all have left me with a “messy” trail of mental anguish to clean up along the way. I have tried every type of holistic and medical treatments to treat my anxiety, PTSD, depression, and insomnia. While many of the “traditional therapies” were helpful and taught me valuable coping skills and tools to use when faced with highly impactful situations; they never really helped with my underlying daily anxiety, PTSD, anger, seasonal depression, insomnia, and stress of everyday life. No matter how much I tried to control my baseline anxiety, I have only learned to deal with it and come to understand this is “who I am” and I will live with this for the rest of my life.
As with any other therapy I have tried, I went into IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback sessions with an open mind and willingness to try another modality to improve my overall mental health and deal with my daily anxiety. I had been introduced to this therapy by my sister. After only one session, I was blown away with how good I felt mentally and physically. I slept the best I have ever slept and had vivid, beautiful dreams. I woke up refreshed, less fatigued and didn’t feel quite anxious for my day ahead.
I continued with 2 sessions per week for the first few weeks, and saw a significant difference in my irritability, mood, insomnia, anxiety, PTSD, muscle weakness, chronic fatigue, and stress levels/ adrenal dysfunction. After finishing my 12 sessions with IASIS MCN; I can truly say, “I experience peace most days and don’t carry around the daily chronic anxiety and stress that I had previously learned to live with…. this was lifechanging for me”.
Since having life changing success as a patient with IASIS MCN I left trauma/ emergency medicine with my new found confidence and opened my own practice providing IASIS MCN to others who are struggling.
I have also gone to my first professional football game, have been quick to say yes to more crowded and loud events, have joined my local VFW post, and have gotten out of my comfort zone (because I am no longer paralyzed by my anxiety and PTSD) to pursue things in my personal and professional life I could only dream of doing before my healing.
I am now living life and enjoying it fully while truly helping heal others with IASIS microcurrent neurofeedback.
