Beginning June 15th through June 19th, the North Wellness Center entrance will be closed due to concrete work. During this time, all patients and visitors should use the clinic entrance on the southwest side of the building.
Wellness Center members will still have after-hours access to the facility by entering through the main clinic doors and swiping their membership card at the badge reader located at the clinic entrance.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make improvements to our facility and continue enhancing the services we provide to our community.

The first week of Epic Go-Live at SMHA is officially in the books! 🙌

This week brought a lot of new workflows, new screens, and plenty of “figuring it out as we go” but also a lot of collaboration, quick thinking, and people stepping in wherever needed.

Rolling out Epic is a major transition, and we appreciate the effort it’s taken from every department to keep things moving while we adjust. The learning curve has been real, but so has the teamwork.

Thank you to everyone who stayed flexible, helped a coworker, asked questions, and kept patient care at the center of it all. That consistency matters more than anything.

We’ll keep building on what we’ve learned and head into week two with more confidence (and probably a few more tips and tricks under our belt).

We are excited to share an update from our Epic Go-Live implementation! 💻🏥

Avera has officially launched a new electronic health record system called Epic. This upgrade is an important step forward in how we document, manage, and deliver patient care. Epic allows our care teams to access information more efficiently, improve coordination across departments, and continue providing safe, high-quality care for our patients and community.

The first few days of Go-Live have been a true team effort as staff across all areas learn and adapt to the new system together. To help make this transition fun and engaging, we’ve incorporated an “Epic Adventure” theme along with dress-up days, activities, and team events—turning a major system change into a shared journey of learning and support.

Thank you to our patients and community for your patience and support during this transition, and to our staff for their continued dedication, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to providing exceptional patient care through every challenge and milestone.
