Lights, camera, action! 🎬 A trip to the movies is a classic experience, but for many GA kiddos, the loud audio and dark theater can feel like a major challenge. At MATS, we help our campers master Movie Theater Success! We focus on managing sensory input and the social skill of staying in a seat. Whether it’s using headphones or practicing with favorite snacks, we tailor support to your child’s needs. At MATS, we believe every outing is a chance to learn! During our community activities, like a trip to the bakery, our campers practice real-world skills that build independence:

Watching our campers give back to our Georgia community is truly special! 🌻

Today, our crew headed out to a local public garden for some hands-on service. It wasn't just about getting our hands dirty; it was a fantastic way to practice following multi-step tasks. From identifying weeds to carefully placing new flowers in the soil, everyone worked together as a team to follow the instructions and reach our goal.

We’re so proud of their hard work and dedication to making our local Georgia spaces even more beautiful! At MATS, we believe learning happens everywhere, especially when we’re out in the community building inclusive environments together. Big news for our Georgia community! 🍑

Governor Brian Kemp has officially signed “Rio’s Law,” and this is such a significant win for safety, awareness, and understanding for our families across the state. 👏

This new legislation does two incredibly important things:

✅ It requires autism-specific training for law enforcement officers.
✅ It creates specialty license plates for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.

The goal is to help prevent dangerous misunderstandings during traffic stops and emergency situations. We know how stressful these moments can be, and seeing Georgia take this proactive step toward protecting our neurodiverse loved ones is so encouraging. It’s about ensuring that every interaction is rooted in knowledge and compassion.

We are so proud to be part of a community that is moving toward a safer, more inclusive future for our children.
