How do you fit 60 minutes of meaningful conversation
into 3 minutes? You really can’t. But we tried.
A little glimpse into what we’ve been building with
Foundation
We recently had the opportunity to bring our
“Break The Cycle” mentorship and resilience curriculum
to a group of young men through Rutgers Future Scholars.
We talked about identity, the pressures young men carry, the decisions that shape their futures, and what it really means to break cycles. Not from a textbook, but from our own experiences, mistakes, lessons, and everything we’ve learned along the way.
What’s crazy is that something we started with two bicycles and an idea has now brought us into classrooms, having conversations we wish somebody had with us at their age. And we don’t take that lightly.
We spent weeks developing this curriculum, putting together student journals, preparing ourselves, and wondering whether what we had to offer would actually resonate.
Then we got in that room.
This 3-minute trailer doesn’t capture everything that happened during those 60 minutes, especially the voices and perspectives of the students, which we’ve intentionally kept private. But hopefully it gives you a feel for what we’re working toward.
Huge thank you to Dr. Shareyna N. James and Rutgers Future Scholars for trusting us with this opportunity.
We’re still learning. Still building. Still breaking cycles.
Two wheels. One goal. 🚴🏾💨
