🌟 Success Story: Edward "Big Dog" Schwab 🌟

Everyone in our therapy gym knows Edward "Big Dog" Schwab for his bright smile, positive attitude, and determination. After being hospitalized with a serious ankle infection that required surgery, Edward faced a challenging recovery. Despite living with cerebral palsy and other complex medical conditions, he came to therapy each day ready to work hard and make progress. One of the most special parts of Edward's journey was the friendship he built with therapy team members Tyler and Johnathan. Sharing the nickname "Big Dog," the three became a well-known trio in the gym, always bringing smiles, encouragement, and laughter to those around them. This photo captures more than a successful rehabilitation stay — it represents the friendships, trust, and teamwork that help make recovery possible. Through hard work, perseverance, and the support of his care team, Edward achieved his goal and was able to return home. Congratulations, Big Dog! We are so proud of all you've accomplished and wish you all the best as you continue your journey at home. 👏💙

🥳 Miss Diane celebrated her birthday with us recently, with family and friends here to share the joy of the occasion with her. Oh, and of course, we had to put 29 on her birthday cake. 😉 Happy birthday, Diane! 🎂

Meet our incredible patient, June! 🌟 She is a strong and determined woman who recently completed her rehab journey with our team.

Earlier this year, June experienced a life‑changing fall while simply turning to go to the bathroom, resulting in a serious left hip fracture. She underwent surgery, but her challenges didn’t end there. She developed septic shock afterward and required several days in the ICU. Before this event, June lived with her daughter and was modified independent with all her daily activities, mobility, and transfers. After her hospitalization, however, she arrived to us totally dependent—unable to complete bed mobility, transfers, or gait, and experiencing significant pain, weakness, postural instability, and limited activity tolerance.

However, June’s story is one of resilience. With the support of our dedicated Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy teams, she worked tirelessly to rebuild her strength, confidence, and independence. Her determination was inspiring. Day by day, she pushed through pain, weakness, and fear of falling. By the end of her stay, she returned to her prior level of independence. 👏

Today, June is safely walking with her 4‑wheel walker, completing her daily activities, and moving confidently at home once again. We are so proud of her hard work and grateful for the teamwork between our PT and OT departments that helped make this recovery possible. 💙

🩺 CNA Week Celebration! 🎉

We gifted shirts, served breakfast 🍩, and hosted spirit days to celebrate our amazing Certified Nursing Assistants during their appreciation week! 😃

Our community vendors pulled through with fun summer drinks and sweet treats! Big shout-out to our Medical Director's team from AdventHealth for serving treats and hosting a raffle, and a thank-you to our friends at Arden Courts, VITAS Healthcare, Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, Home Instead, and Flourish in Place Home Care Solutions for taking the time to celebrate our wonderful CNAs. 🫶
