Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and professional Direct Care Worker to provide high-quality, non-medical in-home care for a private pay client. The ideal candidate will help clients maintain their independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life while remaining in the comfort of their own home.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide companionship and emotional support.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
Bathing and personal hygiene
Dressing and grooming
Toileting and incontinence care
Ambulation and mobility assistance
Transfers with or without assistive devices, as appropriate
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if needed.
Perform light housekeeping, including:
Laundry
Dishwashing
Vacuuming and dusting
Changing bed linens
Keeping the client’s living areas clean and organized
Remind clients to take medications as directed (no medication administration unless permitted by state regulations and agency policy).
Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community activities as authorized.
Monitor and promptly report changes in the client’s physical, emotional, or mental condition.
Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and client observations.
Follow the client’s individualized care plan.
Maintain client confidentiality and respect privacy at all times.
Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous caregiving, home care, or direct care experience preferred.
Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance (if transportation is required).
Ability to pass a criminal background check and any required screenings.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, transfer, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to assist clients safely with mobility and transfers.

Work Environment
Services are provided in the client’s private residence. Work schedules may include days, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays based on client needs.
