James K. Aber
James K. Aber, age 87, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026 at his home. Born on February 17, 1939 in Akron, Ohio, he lived a life marked by devotion, hard work, and an unwavering pride in those he loved. No one was more proud of his family and grandchildren than he was, and he carried that pride with him every day of his life.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. His family was truly the center of his world. His presence brought warmth, strength, and joy to those around him and he was the kind of person who would help anyone, anytime.
A bricklayer by trade, he built more than structures — he built a legacy of dedication, craftsmanship, and integrity. He took great pride in his work, and the results of his hands can be seen in countless places and remembered by many.
James enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life rich: the golf course, the thrill of drag racing, the satisfaction of a job well done, and great joy watching his grandchildren wrestling. These passions brought him happiness and connected him with friends who admired his integrity.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Dolletta Aber; daughters, Natalie (Dan) Brasiel of Aurora, Ohio and Charity Aber of Washington; son, James Aber, Jr. of Washington; sister, JoAnn Stem of Tallmadge, Ohio; grandchildren; Drake, and Anna. His family will carry the legacy of the man he was.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, Uniontown. A private family interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
