💛 Every Feeding Journey Deserves Support.

August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, and at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital, we're proud to offer something new for growing families—our first full-time International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

With more than 30 years of experience, Michelle Mehall, IBCLC, provides compassionate, one-on-one breastfeeding support to help families feel confident from their baby's very first feeding and beyond.

Whether you're preparing for delivery, experiencing challenges after birth, or simply looking for reassurance, Michelle is here to provide personalized, evidence-based guidance every step of the way.

Breastfeeding isn't always easy—but you don't have to do it alone.

This World Breastfeeding Week and throughout National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, we celebrate every family's unique journey and the dedicated caregivers who help make those first moments together a little easier.

Dr. Jeffrey Manway recently joined WPXI-TV Pittsburgh’s Take 5 to discuss the importance of foot and ankle health—and the comprehensive podiatry services available close to home at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital.

During the interview, Dr. Manway shared helpful information about recognizing symptoms that should not be ignored, preventing serious diabetic foot complications, and treating conditions ranging from chronic pain and sports injuries to bunions, fractures, tendon problems and wounds that will not heal.

Thank you to the WPXI team for the warm welcome and the opportunity to help our community take an important step toward better health!

PA Donor Day – August 1, 2026

On August 1, 2026, we recognize PA Donor Day, a time to honor the incredible impact of organ, tissue, and cornea donation while celebrating the selfless generosity of donors and their families.

One donor has the power to save multiple lives and improve the lives of many others through the gift of donation.

Today, we honor the memories of donors, celebrate transplant recipients, and encourage everyone to consider registering as an organ donor.

Together, we can bring hope and a second chance at life to those waiting for a lifesaving transplant.
