PA Donor Day – August 1, 2026

On August 1, 2026, we recognize PA Donor Day, a time to honor the incredible impact of organ, tissue, and cornea donation while celebrating the selfless generosity of donors and their families.

One donor has the power to save multiple lives and improve the lives of many others through the gift of donation.

Today, we honor the memories of donors, celebrate transplant recipients, and encourage everyone to consider registering as an organ donor.

Together, we can bring hope and a second chance at life to those waiting for a lifesaving transplant.

Lights, camera, action!

Today, WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital welcomed the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) to highlight the impact of the WVU Medicine Golisano Children's Birthing Center.

HAP interviewed President and CEO Karyn Wallace and Chief Nursing Officer Meredith Aumer, DNP, RN, CPEN, NE-BC, about the importance of restoring labor, delivery and neonatal care to Fayette County and what it means for local mothers, babies and families.

Since reopening in January 2025, the Birthing Center has provided families with access to high-quality maternity care close to home while strengthening the health of our community. We're honored to share our story as part of HAP's Caring for the Commonwealth series, showcasing how Pennsylvania hospitals are investing in healthier communities every day.

💙 Every family deserves exceptional care close to home—and we're proud to make that possible right here in Fayette County.
