(A small poem for a revolutionary day)
(Keep loving keep fighting)

The revolution is also laying next to the one you love listening to the rain

Because what it takes

To lay next to the one you love listening to the rain

Is a bed and safety and food and a body with a beating heart and lungs that breathe air and a world in which love is possible

And what makes love possible is the same force that makes revolution possible

That is

Life moving toward life
Toward whole cities built not for profit
But for a child to grow into an and adult who can love and be loved

Which means an open heart
And what makes an open heart more possible is what we are fighting for

a love note in the nightas we learn to love and fail and fail and love in revolutionary times ➰❤️‍🔥

went to the woods

the woods had something to say🌱🩵
liberation is the struggle to be life inside of life
no more
no less

free to be in connection to spirit
soil
breath
each other

not
extraction
competition
production
status
domination
accumulation
wages for time
busyness
accomplishments
success
or the forced hyper vigilance of survival created by racial capital to keep us numb, consuming, and desperately disconnected

liberation as a continual unfolding of
life moving toward life
connected
whole
intricately complex
present

liberation as the ability to be with what is
feeling aliveness course through our veins, each other, and the land
now
and now
and now

Fascism is anti life as it resists change, evolution, and transformation

It seeks to control and suppress, with violence, the impulse life has toward complexity and shape-shifting
As Octavia Butler taught us, god is change

if god is change then transness is holy

If god is change then immigrants are sacred

If god is change then disabled people are oracles
We will keep changing toward life
Toward complexity
Toward the capacity to hold our fears and longings
To move with love and grief

To shape and meet change from a place of choice more than reaction

As we drop into the body, what does change on purpose toward liberation feel like?

(For me it feels like an opening in my chest, the breath coming a little easier. I can feel the ground under my feet. And I can feel the hands at my back beckoning me forward 🩵)

Truly deeply humbled to be in convo w

Dr.Jenn isn’t just an incredible theorist and fierce visionary, she also was there for me on a human level as we shared similar medical paths in the past years

Thank you Jenn for your expansive humanity, kindness, and generosity

Thank you for being in learning and exchange in these months and for coming to this convo with so much grace!❤️‍🔥
This convo is very much an outcrop of practice and collective holding

Big shut out to .somatics and - your presence is all over this episode ✨🌱🍊

Shut out to all the networks of practice and accountability in Chicago and the NE

And shut out to for holding me thru change as well!

Woke up to the reports of what’s happening in the detention centers in florida

Feeling ever so small

Inside of so much fear swirling around me and in me

And went to the lake, a great teacher on change and transformation

And she has some things to say

No fancy graphics, just a repost back🩵🌊

If today comes with rage and a heavy heart, you are seen, you are loved, you are held

We keep changing, on purpose 🌱🪽✨🧡

an ode to photosynthesis and carbon dioxide for the eclipse portal spring vortex
💫🌪🕳🌱
in meeting these times
a move that has met me well is becoming wider, feeling whatever is there as fully as I physically can

to let it pass through me like a thunderstorm
sharp lightning all the way down to my feet
where the soil can take some of the charge off of my sore bones

and in feeling the pain,
I can also feel for the life on the other side
the life that feels for me as I feel for it

that beacons me forward
toward unfolding into my full humanity - loving, flawed, and evolving
and most of all, feeling for other kin, shape-shifting with me
🌱
may this be an offering toward molding into shapes that felt impossible just months ago

may this meet your heart as it longs for liberation

and your body as it takes the next step toward a future of revolutionary love

a future that is already here, in bits and pieces

a future that we get to weave together
day by day
one exhale at the time

🌊🌊🌊

let me learn to feel all of the pain
and then, more than the pain

let me learn to feel for the flower
raising from the thawed earth
on the other side of the river bank
farther than my eye can see

its upward movement
sensed by my breath
as it leaves my lips
and is freed by the wind

itching a ride in the currents
settling in the slippery mud
where life grows

let me feel for the flower’s hunger
for it knows how to make good use
of my exhale
if i can let it go

🌊🌊🌊🌹

I really can't fully state the importance of politicized care work in current movements for justice!

the history of the Lincoln Hospital occupation, of Lincoln Detox, of the Black Panthers, Young Lords, and hospital workers organizing together for dignity and justice is one all of us can learn so much from
I am deeply indebted to thinking and approach to acupuncture, collective health, and politicized medicine
from Dr. Shakur: "People would come to the Bronx, dope fiends, hardened dope victims. We would massage their ears and massage their hands and their legs. And we would stand there with our fingers in their ears or in the different points, and we'd do deep breathing, and they'd fall right out to sleep and just relax. And then the next day they'd be back for that treatment. And we were detoxifying people off of he**in and co***ne and methadone with acupressure, a lot of love, a lot of commitment to it"

LET'S PUT THIS MEDICINE BACK INTO THE HANDS OF THE PPL!

LETS PASS HB2715 NOW!
