Join us for 988 Steps Toward Hope, a community walk dedicated to raising awareness for su***de prevention, promoting hope, and reminding everyone that no one has to face life's struggles alone.

Whether you walk for yourself, in honor of someone you love, in memory of someone you've lost, or simply to support your community, your presence matters. Together, we can break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage meaningful conversations that can change and even save lives.

Registration is $9.88, a meaningful reminder of the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, where help is available 24 hours a day by calling or texting 988.

Bring your family, invite your friends, and take steps toward a community where hope, connection, and compassion lead the way.

All proceeds benefit the LOSS Team of Lea County through Permian Basin Counseling & Guidance, providing support and resources to individuals, families, and communities impacted by su***de.

Thank you, Lea County Fair & PRCA Rodeo (New Mexico) for having us at Lea County Fairgrounds for your "Hats Off to 90 Years.” As a partner agency of United Way of Lea County , Permian Basin Counseling & Guidance offers hope & healing to the rural Permian Basin communities of Southeastern New Mexico, including Carlsbad, Hobbs, Jal, and Artesia. Our mission is to break down barriers to mental health care by providing accessible, evidence-based counseling and supportive services that empower individuals and families to reach their full potential in mind, body, and spirit.

Services offered include in-person and telehealth Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Play Therapy for individuals, couples, children, family, and veterans throughout all life’s stages and challenges. We accept most insurances and reduced fee and free counseling for those in need of financial assistance.

In addition, we are the first in New Mexico to provide comprehensive su***de prevention, intervention, and postvention services through our Zero Su***de program, which provides rapid access to crisis intervention and safety planning. Thanks to our trained and qualified mental health care professionals, volunteer survivors, and collaborative partners, we are able to offer su***de prevention trainings, crisis counseling, the LOSS Team of Lea County, a clean-up fund, and the Survivors of Su***de Loss Support Group.

At Permian Basin Counseling and Guidance, we believe that every life matters, so we also consider it our mission to provide free, evidence-based su***de prevention for our clients and community. While zero su***des might sound like a goal beyond reach, we believe that with proper screening, assessment, and treatment, it is possible to put an end to death by su***de in our community.

A heartfelt thank you to New Mexico Oil & Gas Association (NMOGA) for investing in the mental health of families across the rural New Mexico Permian Basin.

Because of NMOGA's support, our clients experienced meaningful decreases in symptoms of anxiety and depression—bringing hope, healing, and healthier futures to our communities.

Together, we're making quality mental health care accessible where it's needed most.

It's an honor to be among the 40 organizations selected by Texas Methodist Foundation in their latest round of grants. This funding goes directly toward supporting the mental health needs of communities in southeastern New Mexico, and we do not take this trust lightly.
Thank you, TMF, for believing in the work we do every day.

We're grateful to share that Texas Methodist Foundation has awarded $1.2 million in grants to 40 churches and nonprofit ministries across Texas and New Mexico.

These ministries are expanding access to healthcare and mental health services, strengthening food security, investing in children and youth, and creating opportunities for individuals and families to thrive. Made possible through the generosity of faithful stewards, each grant goes to leaders who know their communities, are trusted by their neighbors, and are building hope that lasts.

Transformational ministry isn't measured just by the services provided, but by the relationships nurtured over time.
