On Oct. 16, Renown Culture Crew sponsored Fiesta sa Nayon (Festival in the Village), bringing the community together in Fianna’s Healing Garden to commemorate Filipino culture, heritage and traditions.

The event featured traditional Filipino folk dances and musical performances by Renown employees, Lakambini of Northern Nevada and the University of Nevada, Reno Filipino Club. Guests enjoyed the performances alongside a variety of traditional Filipino food and snacks.

Through food, music and dance, the Filipino culture was celebrated and appreciated, together.

For seven decades, Mrs. Jeanne Bufkin has been a familiar face and a dedicated member of the Renown Health family. Since beginning her career at Washoe Medical Center in 1956, Jeanne has witnessed generations of change in healthcare while remaining committed to what matters most — caring for others. From nurse's aide to scrub technician her longtime role in Labor and Delivery, Jeanne has helped welcome countless babies into the world, supported generations of healthcare professionals and made a lasting impact on northern Nevada families.
Her remarkable journey is a testament to hard work, resilience and a lifelong passion for helping others.

A new space. Built just for kids.

Renown Health has opened an expanded pediatric rehabilitation and therapy gym at Renown Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation on E. 2nd Street in Reno.

The new space brings physical, occupational and speech therapy together in one location designed specifically for children, including those who are neurodivergent. Adjustable lighting and specialized equipment allow therapists to adapt sessions to each child’s needs, while the expanded gym is designed to support approximately 4,500 visits each year.

The new gym is part of our continued investment in pediatric care across northern Nevada, including plans for the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Renown, the region’s first standalone children’s hospital.

A major milestone for northern Nevada.

In September, Renown Health proudly broke ground on the new Integrated Ambulatory Care Center at Kiley Ranch in Sparks, marking the start of construction on a significant investment in our community's health and well-being. The future facility will expand access to primary, urgent and specialty care services to help meet the needs of our growing region.
