Your house smells clean. A candle on the table, a plug-in in the hallway, a fresh scent on everything you wash.
That smell is not clean. It is fragrance, and many fragrances use phthalates to make the scent last.
Indoor air can carry 2 to 5 times more of some pollutants than outdoor air. New furniture, carpet and paint add their own for months.
Three changes:
1. Open your windows 15 minutes a day.
2. A HEPA air filter in the bedroom, where you spend a third of your life.
3. Clean with vinegar, baking soda and castile soap.
Tonight, take one plug-in out of the bedroom.
And if you still wake up foggy and tired after a week, something in your home may be part of the root cause. That needs to be addressed.
