Life is not the art of finding balance, but always balancing.
Do you strive to find that perfect balance in life just to feel that it is impossible? Maybe that’s because the perfect balance is illusive since it implies it’s something we find and keep, clinging to hold on to.
If the human collective has learned anything during the COVID 19 pandemic it’s that impermanence is the only thing that is permanent. Change is the only constant in life besides our breath and heart beat.
So why would we rationalize balance as something we will always have once it’s glimpsed? It comes and goes just like our breath, the ocean waves, the storm and the sunshine.
Practicing balancing work and play, stillness and busyness, alone time and time with your loves, exercise and rest, healthy habits and indulgences takes practice, patience, and acceptance of what is happening in this moment.
I have had to work hard on balancing lately as I have joyous reasons to celebrate life and some reasons to grieve some losses. Mindfulness, compassion, and understanding that this moment too, shall pass (so cherish it or let it go) has been helpful. Allowing myself to rest when I need it, like I did yesterday for Mothers Day, is a way to care for myself and work on balancing the energies that I need to be me.
If you would like to work on balancing your life, . Reach out and we can work on a happier, healthier you.
Thank you for the meditation and inspiration.
