Halloween is fun. But have you ever noticed how your body sometimes feels a little different after a few days of celebrating?

More sugar, less sleep, changes in your usual routine, and a little extra stress can leave us feeling sluggish, uncomfortable, or just not quite ourselves.

For some women, that discomfort shows up as intimate irritation, itching, or unusual discharge. For others, it’s feeling depleted, bloated, or out of rhythm.

I’m not interested in taking the fun out of the holidays. I am interested in helping us pay attention to what our bodies are telling us instead of ignoring the signals and pushing through.

Sometimes, the simplest place to start is with more water, restorative sleep, and a return to the meals and daily habits that help us feel our best.

And if we’re experiencing intimate symptoms, let’s stop treating them like something to be embarrassed about. These are normal health conversations, and we deserve to have them without shame.

One important reminder: itching or unusual discharge isn’t always a yeast infection. If symptoms are new, severe, persistent, or recurring, get evaluated rather than guessing at the cause or repeatedly treating it yourself.

Enjoy the holiday. Eat the candy. Make the memories. And then give yourself permission to listen to what your body needs.

If you want to join us inside the Women’s Reset Membership, you’ll have a supportive space to ask the intimate questions, get trusted guidance, and connect with women who understand. Join us today.

Taking care of ourselves doesn’t have to mean taking the fun out of life. Send me a DM today and let me know you'd like to join.

She’s an author….she’s a speaker, she’s an expert….and one of her books is why “mean girls” became a movie. My interview with her was so good! I can’t wait for the next one!

As a parent, of course I want my children to talk to me. I want them to know they can come to me with the hard things, the confusing things, and the things they’re still trying to understand.

But Rosalind Wiseman brought up a distinction in our conversation that I think is worth sitting with. Wanting our children to feel safe talking to us doesn’t mean we need access to every thought, feeling, or detail of their lives.

Our children are also learning where they end and we begin. They’re learning what they want to share, what they want to keep private, and how to create boundaries even inside the relationships where they feel safest.

That can be uncomfortable as a parent because closeness can easily start to feel like knowing everything.

But perhaps part of raising children who trust us is showing them that connection doesn’t require constant access to their inner world.

This conversation with Rosalind gave me a different way to think about communication, privacy, and what healthy connection can look like between parents and children.

Did you ever see the movie “Mean Girls”? The book Queen Bees and Wannabes is where it came from and I got to interview the author!!!!!

My daughter can be one person with her soccer team and step into a completely different role with her volleyball team.

I brought that observation to Rosalind Wiseman because she’s spent decades studying the social dynamics girls learn inside groups. What she said made me look at belonging differently. Girls can learn very young that staying connected sometimes means ignoring a boundary, tolerating behavior that doesn’t feel right, or becoming the version of themselves the group needs them to be.

And, girls grow up. I wonder how many of us are still carrying some version of those early lessons into friendships, work, marriage, and motherhood without realizing where they began.

Wanda said something that stayed with me: “I put my business on the front burner, my family on the front burner, and I always get the leftovers.”

How many of us know exactly what that feels like?

We build the business. We show up for our families. We invest in our growth, keep the commitments, solve the problems, and make sure everyone else has what they need. And somewhere along the way, taking care of ourselves becomes the thing we’ll get to when everything else is handled.

Except everything else is never really handled.

Wanda had built a successful business and invested in plenty of professional growth. What she hadn’t done was make that same kind of investment in herself.

When she joined The Women’s Vibrancy Code, she began making small, personalized shifts in her hydration, nutrition, daily habits, and how she supported her energy. Just as importantly, she found a community of women rooting for her as she learned to put herself back on the list.

What I love most is that Wanda isn’t trying to become someone else. She’s learning to care for the woman who has been carrying so much for so long.

She said, “I’m looking forward to just putting me first for once.”

That sentence says so much.

We don’t have to wait until we’re depleted, exhausted, or completely out of capacity to decide we matter, too. We can begin making ourselves a priority while we’re still building the businesses, raising the families, and living the lives we care so deeply about.

Wanda, I’m so grateful to witness this chapter with you.

Seeing this cover still feels incredibly meaningful to me.

My work has never been about helping women simply get through midlife. It’s about helping us recognize that this chapter can be a return to ourselves, with more energy, clarity, confidence, desire, and a deeper connection to who we are and what we want.

Because so many women reach this season feeling different, but unable to explain exactly why. We’re more exhausted than we used to be. Our minds feel less sharp. Our bodies are changing. The things that once brought us joy may not feel the same. And too often, we’re told everything looks fine.

But what if fine isn’t the goal?

What if midlife is an opportunity to stop accepting less of ourselves and start asking what we actually need to feel vibrant, alive, and connected again?

That is why being featured in Women Reporter feels so aligned with the work I have devoted my life to. I want more women to know that this chapter doesn’t have to be about quietly losing pieces of themselves. It can be about reclaiming their vitality, their power, their desire, and the parts of themselves that have been pushed aside while they cared for everyone else.

I’m deeply grateful to Women Reporter for making space for this conversation and for helping us rethink what women’s health and aging can look like.

Because getting older shouldn’t mean expecting less from life. And feeling like yourself again shouldn’t feel out of reach.

Lately, I have been thinking about how easy it is to spend so much time building a life that we forget to actually be inside of it.

There is always something else to finish, someone who needs an answer, another decision to make, and another thing that could be done before we finally let ourselves be present.

But some of the moments I value most are the ones that would never make it onto a calendar. They are the conversations in the kitchen, the laughter that happens when nobody is rushing, the extra few minutes with my family, and the ordinary moments that remind me why I work so hard in the first place.

I want my children to remember that I was there, not just that I got everything done.

I want my marriage, my family, and my own life to receive some of the same attention I so naturally give to my work.

Maybe a vibrant life is not about fitting more into it. Maybe it is about being fully present for the life that is already here.

Here is my top list of symptoms a woman may experience that I relate to brain fog but she might not have made the connection in the past.

1. Walking into a room and forgetting why you’re there.
2. Knowing exactly what you want to say, but being unable to find the word.
3. Losing your train of thought in the middle of a conversation.
4. Reading something and realizing you absorbed absolutely none of it.
5. Struggling to follow conversations, especially when there’s a lot happening around you.
6. Feeling like your brain is moving through a haze, veil, or fog.
7. Suddenly struggling to multitask when you used to be able to juggle everything.
8. Forgetting names, appointments, passwords, or other information you normally remember easily.
9. Feeling mentally sluggish or slower to process information and make decisions.
10. Misplacing things constantly or forgetting what you were just doing.
11. Feeling unusually flat, disconnected, or emotionally muted.
12. Losing your usual excitement or engagement with life—things you normally enjoy just don’t seem as interesting.
13. Feeling vaguely sad, low, or depressed without understanding why.
14. Feeling overwhelmed by ordinary amounts of information, stimulation, or decision-making.
15. Wondering what is happening to you, and feeling like you’re not yourself anymore.

7.41K of you are now here with me on YouTube, and I am feeling so grateful.

What started as a place to share what I know about women’s health has grown into a space where we can have real conversations about hormones, energy, sleep, desire, perimenopause, relationships, leadership, and what it actually takes to feel vibrant in your life.

I never want this work to be about giving women more noise. I want it to help you understand your body better, ask better questions, and feel more confident about what comes next.

Thank you for watching, sharing, commenting, and being part of this community. Every time one of you tells me that a video helped something finally make sense, I am reminded why I keep showing up.

If you have not subscribed yet, come join us. There is so much more coming, and I am excited to keep building this with you.

Imagine trying to have a bowel movement while someone is chasing you through the woods. Your body isn’t going to decide it’s a great time to digest lunch. It’s going to prioritize survival.

When your nervous system moves into fight, flight, or freeze, your body redirects energy and blood flow toward the systems it needs to respond to a threat. Digestion and gut motility can slow because, physiologically, they aren’t the priority in that moment.

That’s why the rest-and-digest state matters so much.

We can spend a lot of time talking about fiber, supplements, food sensitivities, and what we should or shouldn’t eat. Those things can matter. But I also want to know how you’re sleeping, how much stress your body is carrying, and whether you ever truly come out of high alert. Your gut and nervous system are in constant conversation.

I unpack more of this connection in the podcast, including why digestion can change when stress becomes your body’s normal.

There are some things I never expected to talk about this often in my work, and p**p is absolutely one of them.

But your bowel movements can tell us a lot about what’s happening inside your body.

On the Bristol Stool Chart, Type 1 looks like little hard pellets and Type 2 is more like a lumpy sausage. Both can be signs that stool has been sitting in the colon too long. The longer it sits there, the more water your colon pulls from it, which can leave you constipated and uncomfortable.

Type 3 is getting closer. But Type 4, smooth, soft, formed, and easy to pass, is generally the goal.

And yes, that means I want you to look before you flush.

Your digestion gives us clues about hydration, fiber, gut motility, medications, stress, and what your nervous system has been navigating.

This is exactly the kind of conversation we’re having on the podcast, because digestive health is about so much more than what you ate yesterday.
