We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended our annual awards ceremony last Friday. It was an evening of celebrating the unwavering allies of immigrant and BIPOC communities.

Our guest speakers deserve a special acknowledgment - Darby Ray from the Howard Center, District Attorney Neil McLean, Officer Joe Philipon, Rebecca Swanson with RSC consulting, Imam Abdikadir Abayle, and Leila Deandre with the Secretary of State and DR Nasra Mohamed. We're immensely grateful for their inspiring words and motivation.

Lastly, we offer our warm congratulations to the six recipients of our annual awards:

Maine Immigrant and Refugee Services
Healthy Androscoggin
Ahmed Ali of LA Family Support Services
Melanie LaMore Gagnon of YWCA Central Maine
John Ochira of John Ochira Photography
Mayor Carl Sheline
Thank you all for your commitment and dedication to these vital communities.

We are excited to be offering a new water safety class for parents! Join us for a four-day class where you will learn basic CPR skills, the dangers of the different bodies of water we have here in Maine. How to support your child as they learn to swim, create a family water safety plan, and so much more!

This a great class for parents to learn or refresh your memory on safe water protocol just in-time for summer! We will be running two sessions, through the end of June! Spots are limited. All registrations will be on rec desk!

*This class takes place both in the classroom as well as in the pool*
