I’m grateful - pun intended - to be part of the community. Today, I experienced my first MELT Method session with the wonderful Lori Smith, and I deeply appreciate her for introducing me to this wonderful space, where I’ll be teaching next week.
Throughout this month, I’ve been invited to explore alongside fellow practitioners the art and science of walking.
A quote from Mikhail Baryshnikov - “When a body moves, it’s the most revealing thing. Dance for me a minute, and I’ll tell you who you are.”- though originally about dance -resonates deeply with me. In my 20+ years as a myofascial release and energy healing practitioner, I’ve found its truth extends to walking as well.
Please read on to learn more about what we’ll be exploring in next week’s class.
In this experiential workshop, we will explore how the body and mind influence our postural patterns and, in turn, our ability to walk with greater freedom and range of motion. Participants will examine how these patterns can either support or restrict natural movement.
We will also explore the relationship between the body-mind connection and the three primary stabilizers of the myofascial system. By understanding how these stabilizers function - whether inhibited or operating efficiently - you will gain insight into how releasing dysfunctional patterns can enhance movement efficiency, stability, and overall ease.
To that end, this class will occur Friday, July 24th from 9:30am-10:45am. Hope to see you there!
