Process for making the flag union.
I layer black paint with several coats of navy blue. Once that’s cured I cover the whole thing with painters tape before carving the stars with the CNC. I leave the tape on while I spray the stars white. Once the paints dried I peel the tape off and engrave the back. I let the white paint cure a few days before distressing and burning the Union. It’s a process….

This one will not be for sale, because it is not perfect. I had these cut and painted over a year ago, got busy with other projects and in the meantime the boards warped so hard that I couldn’t correct even with clamps and the frame. You can see in the photos that the stripes curl slightly up to the right. This is a lesson not to put projects off too long lol. I’m fine with this one being the shop flag.

It’s been a minute. I still have some finish trimming to do to square everything up but it’s almost done.
