PHP stands for Public Health Preparedness, and is a part of the Division of Public and Behavioral Health with the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. We are funded by grants from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), which provides funding to help protect the health and safety of people at home and abroad. Other grant funding is received from the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR). The ASPR grants aid with the improvement to the healthcare system, (from hospitals to EMS), and for response to incidents with events with affected masses in the communities due to any type of terrorism or public health emergency. Nevada PHP distributes these funds to our preparedness partners around the state through sub-grants and work programs to help make their communities more resilient to an event.
