Geeking out on anatomy and Yoga! "The physiological yin and yang." 😍 Looking forward to bringing these alignment and refinement gems into 2023!
I've been loving my quiet teaching of privates and yoga via zoom. And yet, I'm looking to add an in-person class in 2023 so stay tuned!

Feeling emotionally about having just taught my last live class of 2020. The women I have come to know are wonderful people that I get to spend time with weekly. They let me into their homes and share their lives with me as I share the messy beautiful chaos of my life with them. There is an intimacy of guiding yoga online from my home and I treasure these connections. 🥰
I'm not sure what 2021 holds or when I'll resume teaching. Maybe at the end of January, maybe sooner, perhaps not at all. It has been a decade of teaching and sharing; creating connections, being a part of pregnancy and motherhood journeys, and I have loved each class and each lovely mama and baby that have shared their yoga mat with me. 💗
Happy holidays and a Merry New Year! ✨

In the interest of more time away from screens, I have removed the two groups I had associated with this page. I hope to keep seeing you in live, zoom classes or in the posts and comments on social.

Warmly,
Jodi

One of the things 2020 has taught me is how restorative it is to slow down and stay home. 💕

I hope we are all taking this into consideration, particularly as we enter the holiday season, to manage our energy, stresses and feelings of overwhelm. Boundaries are an important part of mental and emotional health. Stay safe and be well. 💖🧘‍♀️

The heaviness of today and anxiousness for the future of the nation is completely distracting me from anything productive. So, time for ragey music to sweat out some stress. How are you releasing tension today???

Are you getting both of these in this weekend? As humans, we must make time for rest and for play. Rest can be nap, laying down with a favorite show, going to bed early, meditation, etc. Play can be with your kids, without your kids, a board game, getting outdoors, kitchen dance party, exercise, etc. We can't be "on" all the time; we must rest and play.

As I'm having to shift today's class to later in the week, this is a good list and reminder for us all. 💗 Self-care isn't selfish, it is survival. 💗 Taking time to rest today to feel stronger tomorrow. Be kind to yourself. 🧘‍♀️

This week's schedule will be adjusted to:
▪︎Wednesday 10:30am Postpartum Yoga & Core
▪︎Wednesday 3pm Prenatal Yoga
▪︎Friday 3pm Prenatal Yoga

Thank you lovelies for understanding! Enjoy the surprise sunshine and hope you get to walk before the rain returns.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. This isn't always a topic that comes up in prenatal and postpartum classes, but it is real pain and real loss. It can be a part of motherhood and the journey into parenthood.
•
My own experience came in the fall of 2014. We had been undecided on having a third child. The surprise pregnancy made the decision for us and we embraced it with joy. Two weeks later I started to spot. I thought it was fine after resting a few days. Then, the bleeding became worse and I had to be seen urgently. The pregnancy was ectopic, shredding my fallopian tube, and causing significant internal bleeding. The news was devastating. The pregnancy I didn't want to lose was threatening my life. The grief was intense and all consuming; so was the rage. It took lots of time, tears, movement, and sitting with the feelings to get through it all.

I honor those who have or are experiencing their own loss. And I hold space for you in my heart. By sharing we learn we are not alone. By sharing we remember. By sharing we takeaway some of the power in the pain and release it. It took me a long while to talk about it. When I was finally ready, it helped.

At Bridgetown Baby we honor and celebrate your journeys into and through parenthood. We respect that your family is made up of so many integral pieces of your history- past, present, and future. And sometimes that includes pregnancy and infant loss.
