Im Jordan, a Registered Nutrition & Dietetic Technician through the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, a Certified Personal Trainer & Health Coach. I am not your typical trainer who uses moves and routines passed down through the ages, or whatever happens to sound good at the time. I have spent countless hours researching new techniques, routines, different movements and different philosophies whic

h result in maximum results, and unmistakable gains to strength, conditioning, stamina, and all around mental fortitude. A quote from Dan Gable says: “After wrestling, everything else comes easy.” That may be true, but my workouts are definitely far from easy. I workout differently, and I get different results. You bet, but are you really looking for “easy”? I want to make my life better. Hopefully, that is the same reason you are reading this Bio right now. Let’s take this journey together. The human body is cool, but so wild at the same time 🩻

One of the things that I take into consideration when working with any client is what their overall goal is. While many people start with a general fat loss/ building muscle goal, many times it transitions into something more. Hitting a PR, or trying their first race, planning a hike that was scary previously, etc.

People tend to realize it’s cool to be able to do all these bad ass things, so we then shift their programming to help them reach whatever that goal is.

The cool thing about this- your body is capable of much more than you think. & with the right adaptations & mindset, you can meet that goal.

It takes work. It takes time. It takes dedication. But you can. & your body can handle that stress.

I am not someone who tracks their macros regiously- I event don’t recommend it to clients.

I do believe there is a benefit to tracking your macros for a short time period. It teaches you a few things: what foods are made of, how much you actually are consuming, portion sizes, how your body feels, etc. But I believe there’s seasons of life that this is beneficial & times when it’s not so great.

I recently entered one of those seasons of life where I felt like it would a tool that would benefit me. With the increase in mileage I’m implementing, while trying to maintain muscle mass, it’s important that I make sure I’m giving my body what it needs to build, recover & maintain.

Having a goal to maintain & continue to build means that I have to continue eating in a surplus. Which, when you’re burning 800-1,000 calories on long runs … that can be pretty challenging.

Even though tracking macros can be daunting & time consuming, in seasons like these it’s almost a necessity.

So many times we start & the fall off. But here's the thing, we dont set ourselves up for sucess from the start. Here's a tips that would benefit anyone starting any part of their fitness regimen:

🌟 The first & most important IMO is finding something that you actually enjoy. If you don't enjoy what you are doing, you're just not going to do it, especially for longer than a few weeks.

🌟 Setting aside time to get it done is so important! While we all dont have the same 24 hours in a day & life can get stressful & chaotic, without blocking out time you'll continue to find reasons why you can't. Block time on your calendar to get to a workout class, the gym or go for your run. Make it a non negotiable to not book anything else in this time slot.

🌟 Set realistic goals for yourself. No one is going to be able to go from sitting on the couch to running a marathon in a month. Having this mindset will set you up to fail. Be realistic about your goals, your time & what your body is capable of.

🌟 Progression looks different for everyone. Dont compare your progress to someone else's. Remember, slow progress is STILL progress.

🌟 Find someone to hold you accountable. Having someone in your corner to help push you helps. This can be a friend, family member, coach, etc.

On today’s episode of healthy s**t that taste good: Scoopable tacos 🌮

This is one my fave dishes since it’s high in protein + fiber, completely customizable & can be served a few different ways.

This can be served over a bed of lettuce, rice or our fave way - with tortilla chips!

Is this something you’d try? ⬇️

Don’t forget to work your calves at all angles 😉

Looking for a solid calf finisher? This is a great one to incorporate into your regimen as it hits all sides of calves.

Our calves are a muscle that get alot of work naturally, which means they adapt quickly. Changing the angle helps to build up strength & promote growth.
