Road Apple Psychotherapy, LLC, established in 2005, is a private practice currently located in Upland, IN. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) & Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) incorporates equines or horses as partners in this type of therapy, NOT to be confused with the therapy for Handicapped persons that is offered through PATH. EAP/EAL is 95% NON RIDING therapy. EAP is a very powerful form of
psychotherapy and can get to issues and problems much faster. EAL is a style of learning which is again much more powerful because participants EXPERIENCE the learning instead of just sitting and talking about it. This form psychotherapy has been around for years but most people have either not heard of it or never experienced it. Char Riale Owner/President/CEO has been in the mental health field since 1992. Char has been owned and managed horses since 1986. As a psychotherapist, Char is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC) in Indiana. As a Horse Professional Char has been Certified in EAP/EAL since 2002. Char has been in the mental health field since 1992 where she started as a Mental Health Tech, moved into Case management, and then into Therapy/Counseling. Char has worked with children as young as 3 years of age all they way up to senior adults. She has worked with a variety of diagnosis, in both talk therapy and EAP/EAL which have included Depression, Anxiety and Panic, ADHD/ADD, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Agoraphobia, Drug/alcohol abuse/dependence/addiction, Grief and Loss, Adjustment problems, and many more. Char has provided individual session, along with couples, family, and group sessions.
