I’ve been neglecting my roses, now my beautiful bush looks like this.
The concept of not picking flowers out of love of the beauty never set well for me. As a gardener I know that by pruning the buds space is freed for a more abundant growing season and an overall healthier plant.
Let yourself love the blooms.
Also and dare say more importantly, notice that the whole plant needs tending to. Regularly there is wilt and rot that needs caring for, and if you keep your focus on the beautiful buds without acknowledging that which needs pruning, you’ll choke off the plant, limiting its abundance.
Thus, by ignoring the ugly parts you’re restricting beauty overall.
In the garden as in life.
Bigger picture: Stop spiritual bypassing and self gaslighting. Sometimes things suck. And you can’t make them better by avoiding and ignoring them, even in the noble name of positive reframing.
Even when our culture refuses to sit with each others icks.
I can sit with them.
Let’s make this post a safe place for pruning that which has wilted.
Tell me, Wild One: What do you see that needs attention in the garden of your life? Especially the things you don’t want to deal with- what’s the first step you can take toward clearing out the clutter?
Let’s make space together for some fresh gorgeous blooms to unfold 🌹
