Resident Success Story!

Thelma was admitted to University Nursing Center following a planned knee replacement surgery. Initially, she was unable to bear weight through her left leg and could only hop 5–10 feet on her right foot using a walker.

Throughout her stay, Thelma demonstrated dedication and determination by actively participating in physical and occupational therapy, working toward her goal of returning home independently.

By discharge, she had made excellent progress, walking 40–50 feet with a walker, completing transfers independently, and performing her activities of daily living to support a safe return home. Thelma shared with us that she felt very loved and cared for during her stay at University.

Congratulations on your progress, Thelma! Your hard work and perseverance have paid off!

🌟 Our Employee of the Month is Nicole Roberts! 🌟

Nicole is a CNA here at University Nursing Center in memory care. She went through the NAIT Class and obtained her CNA license with ASC! She has been a CNA at UNC for almost 3 years.

Nicole states, "I immediately fell in love with the facility and the residents. This has been the most rewarding job that I have had. I love my work family! I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, this is home!"

Nicole is a bubbly, outgoing, tender-hearted, hardworking, and accountable person! We are so glad to have Nicole as part of our UNC team! ❤️

🌟 We are celebrating Scarlett and the incredible progress she made during her rehabilitation journey! 🌟

Scarlett came to University Nursing Center following an accident that resulted in a severe leg fracture, initially leaving her dependent on staff for transfers, mobility, and activities of daily living. Throughout her stay, Scarlett actively participated in both Occupational and Physical therapy, demonstrating remarkable progress and determination.

Over the course of her rehabilitation, Scarlett progressed from being non-weight-bearing on her injured leg to walking with a walker and quad cane, safely navigating stairs, and regaining her independence with daily activities.

Scarlett shared that her physical therapist made such a positive impact on her rehabilitation experience that she looked forward to going to therapy each day. The teams encouragement, support, and positive attitude helped make the rehabilitation process something Scarlett genuinely enjoyed.

We are incredibly proud of Scarlett and all she accomplished throughout her rehabilitation journey!
