This week, a representative from the Illinois Telecommunications Access Corporation (ITAC) visited Prairie Winds to meet with our residents. He demonstrated several specialized phone options and communication devices designed to assist individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Residents also had the opportunity to receive hearing screenings and learn which equipment may best meet their individual needs. Thank you to ITAC for providing this helpful and informative presentation and for helping our residents stay connected with their family and friends!

We will be attending the Champaign County Fair for Senior Day activities, including bingo, live music, and lunch.

Today's office mystery:

It was 91° outside, and the rest of us were melting...

Meanwhile, our Business Office Manager was freezing, so management started bringing her sweaters and anything else they could find to warm her up. 🥶😂

Some of us were looking for the A/C... she was looking for a blanket! 🤣

With the summer heat keeping everyone indoors, our residents decided to make the most of the day by cooking their own lunch together! They had a wonderful time preparing the meal, sharing laughs, and enjoying each other's company. It was a fun way to stay cool while creating something delic

Residents spent the day yesterday at the Mall in Champaign. They walked through many different stores and enjoyed lunch together. They appeared to enjoy being out and about in the community.

Our residents had a wonderful time at last Friday’s Resident Prom! ✨

From dressing up in beautiful donated dresses to dancing along with the live DJ, sharing smiles with friends, and celebrating our Prom King and Queen, the evening was filled with joy, laughter, and special memories. It was such a treat to see our residents enjoying themselves, feeling celebrated, and making the night their own.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so special for our Prairie Winds of Urbana family!
