On Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. As rows of flags stand at rest in cemeteries and memorials, they symbolize the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice so we could live in freedom. Yet beyond those still flags, the flags waving proudly in the breeze remind us that the fight for liberty continues through the courage and dedication of the men and women still serving today. Together, they represent both remembrance and resilience — a powerful tribute to those who have fallen and those who continue to defend the freedoms we hold dear.

Thank you to the Urbana Fire Department, Boy Scouts of America Troop 11 Urbana Ohio #439, Mercy Hospital, Sunbelt Rentals, and the Urbana community who came and helped through the rain to honor our veterans by setting up the honor field of flags! We are truly grateful to be a part of an incredible community!

Thank you for your service to our beautiful community!

This morning, along with other community members, The Urbana Fire Division C Shift assisted with setting up the Honor Field at Urbana Mercy Hospital.

The Honor Field is hosted by Walter & Lewis Funeral Home and serves as a meaningful tribute in remembrance and honor of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We offer our deepest gratitude to the veterans of our community—your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment have given us the freedoms we cherish every day. This year, we are honored to recognize you through the Honor Field, a powerful display that will stand from May 23 through May 30 as a tribute to your service and the stories behind every star and stripe. May each flag remind us of the heroes among us and the legacy you continue to shape. Thank you to Mercy Hospital- Urbana for this partnership and honoring our veterans together!

If anyone would like to help put the flags up, we will be meeting at the bottom of the hill at Mercy Hospital at 9AM on Saturday, May 23.

Thank you to all the amazing seniors in our community—you’re the heart, the history, and the sparkle of this celebration. We’re thrilled to be part of Senior Day at the fairgrounds, and with Elvis in the building, it’s nothing but good vibes, great company, and a whole lotta shakin’ goin’ on.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Gecowets as being named the 2026 Champaign County Seniors of the year!

Thank you to the Champaign County Senior Center for organizing this wonderful event! Your dedication to the community and our seniors does not go unnoticed! We appreciate you!

Thank you to the Champaign Aviation Museum for such an amazing Gala. We are proud to be a part of such an incredible event from the food, to the fly-by and the best part, listening to Capt. Ronald A. McGee tell his story and the story of the Tuskegee Airmen. It was a beautiful evening! We are truly blessed to have the Aviation Museum in this community!
