It has been a busy American , and the IPA team kicked it off at in Kansas City a few weeks ago, connecting with pharmacy professionals and working to advance community pharmacy practice.

IPA members continue to stay involved and lead at the national level. 👏 Student pharmacist member Armin Sarajlija serves as NCPA’s 2026-2027 Student Leadership Council President and on the Technology Committee; Bob Greenwood chaired NCPA’s Committee on Resolutions; Joe Greenwood served on the Committee on Developing Opportunities; Aaron McDonough served on NCPA’s Compounding Committee; and Mike Fuller served on NCPA’s National Legislative Committee. Mike, Joe, Bob, and Mike Schweitzer also served as Iowa delegates in NCPA’s House of Delegates.

Additionally, Nicholas Strickler completed NCPA’s Pharmacy Ownership Workshop, and Monica Nikseresht presented on medical billing for pharmacist-led clinical services.

Over the weekend, IPA welcomed 27 student pharmacists from Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy to the 2026 Bill Burke Student Pharmacist Leadership Conference. The students engaged in leadership conversations, professional networking, high ropes, and additional team building activities. 🤝🍂

Thank you to our facilitator, Sarah Ennis, and presenters, Joshua Cahill and Crystal Atwell, from CVS Health. We extend a special thank you to both colleges of pharmacy and Main at Locust Pharmacy and Medical Supplies for supporting this annual event.

Member Spotlight 🌟 Carrie Koenigsfeld, PharmD, FAPhA

🥼 Carrie is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Her clinical practice site is UnityPoint Health Internal Medicine at Lakeview, where she works with APPE and IPPE students to provide services of anticoagulation management, diabetes education, and general drug therapy education.

🎓 Carrie received her PharmD from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 1998 and completed a PGY-1 community pharmacy residency through the University of Iowa in 1999.

💙 Carrie has been involved in countless ways over the years, serving in the IPA House of Delegates, on various committees, on the IPA Board of Trustees (Region 3 and Speaker of the House), and attending the Leadership Pharmacy Conference. Carrie values the Iowa pharmacy family and “the true joy it brings being part of this organization.”

⛵ Carrie and her husband, Dan, have two daughters, Allie and Maia. In her free time, she enjoys singing in the church choir and spending time on the water.
