🌟 Member Spotlight: Village Northwest Unlimited

This week’s Member Spotlight features Village Northwest Unlimited a Sheldon-based nonprofit organization that has supported adults with disabilities since 1974. Through a close-knit community and individualized services, the Village helps people recognize their unique abilities, build successful lives, and pursue greater purpose, privacy, and dignity.

💙 Three Critical Supports They Provide:

• Residential and Community Living Services: Village Northwest Unlimited offers on-campus housing, community-based homes, supported community living, and apartment options.

• Vocational and Employment Services: Through work-readiness training, skill assessments, job shadowing, small-group employment, supported employment, job coaching, and ongoing assistance, the Village helps individuals explore their abilities and pursue meaningful employment opportunities within the community.

• Adult Day Habilitation: Village Northwest Unlimited provides individualized opportunities to develop life skills, explore personal interests, build relationships, and become more involved in the community.

Village Northwest Unlimited also provides therapeutic services designed to support individuals’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
For more than 50 years, Village Northwest Unlimited has worked to build successful lives through opportunities and choices.

This week’s Member Spotlight features Skyline Center Inc a Clinton-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting people with disabilities by removing barriers to independence, employment, and community participation.

Guided by its mission, “Building Community, Supporting Choices,” Skyline Center focuses on each person’s abilities while providing individualized services that make greater independence and community integration realistic goals.

💙 Three Critical Supports They Provide:

• Community Living: Skyline Center helps individuals with disabilities live as independently as possible and participate more fully in their communities. Support is tailored to each person and may include assistance with meal planning, shopping, budgeting, personal care, and other daily living skills.

• Employment Services: Through career exploration, job preparation, placement assistance, and ongoing job coaching, Skyline Center helps individuals pursue and maintain meaningful, competitive employment within their communities.

• Day Habilitation and Skill Development: Skyline Center provides opportunities for individuals to socialize, develop or maintain important life skills, and build stronger connections within their communities.

Since its incorporation in 1963, Skyline Center has grown from a small program serving 10 children into a comprehensive organization supporting people with disabilities throughout the Clinton-area community. Its continued growth reflects a longstanding commitment to helping individuals live, learn, work, and contribute in the communities of their choice.
