Are you wondering whether your young child may need an autism evaluation?

Have you noticed concerns with communication, social interaction, play skills, sensory needs, repetitive behaviors, delayed milestones, or strong reactions to changes in routine?

AAPSA understands that the early years are critical, and every day matters. That is why we have created a fast-tracked autism evaluation process for children ages 0–5 at our Syracuse office!

If you or your provider suspect your child may have autism, we encourage you -- DO NOT WAIT!

Early evaluation matters! When children are evaluated sooner, families can better understand their child’s needs and begin helpful supports earlier. Earlier intervention is connected with better outcomes for children, including stronger communication, social development, learning, and daily living skills.

Is your child getting through the school day but struggling once they get home?

Do homework, transitions, daily routines, asking for help, or big emotions make the after-school hours feel overwhelming?

AAPSA is now offering After-School, Focused ABA services in both our Utica and Syracuse clinics.

Focused ABA provides targeted support for children with autism who may benefit from extra help building practical, everyday skills outside of the school day. This may include support with communication, routines, emotional regulation, homework and task completion, social skills, confidence, and independence.

Our goal is to make after-school support feel focused, meaningful, and encouraging — helping children build skills that can carry over at home, at school, and in daily life.

Spots are limited! So to learn more, fill out an intake form at AAPSA.net.

We were incredibly saddened to hear of the sudden closure of Jowonio School and can only imagine that this closure has left many Syracuse-area families feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, and heartbroken. The children, families, teachers, therapists, and staff at Jowonio are losing not just a school, but a place of connection, growth, inclusion, and belonging.

At AAPSA, we want families to know they are not alone and that we are here to do what we are able for those currently left without services.

For families of young children with autism who are now searching for a supportive, structured setting, we currently have several immediate and upcoming openings in our Little Grasshoppers Autism Day Program.

Little Grasshoppers is designed to help young children build meaningful skills in a supportive environment, with a focus on communication, social-emotional development, self-regulation, daily routines, and readiness for structured learning.

We know that no program can simply replace the relationships, routines, and trust families have built. Our hope is to offer support, stability, and a path forward for families who may need care quickly.

Families interested in learning more or filling out an intake form can visit our site at https://aapsa.net/aba/ -grasshoppers
