Cuts to health and human service budgets shift costs to the most vulnerable populations. Valuable, low-cost tools do exist to help mitigate that burden. One of those is CareBridge, a caregiver support app that helps organize tasks, track medications and medical notes, and provide timely reminders for appointments and routines. On the B2C side, CareBridge empowers family caregivers with simple, reliable coordination and documentation that reduce stress and improve care consistency.

On the B2B side, CareBridge delivers anonymized analytics and insights for employers, revealing the impact of caregiving responsibilities on workforce productivity, absenteeism, and turnover. These insights enable employers to design targeted supports, flexible policies, and programs that retain talent and reduce hidden costs. By connecting individual support with organizational data, CareBridge offers a practical, affordable way to support caregivers and address the broader effects of budgetary shortfalls on health and human services.

We are opening 5 pilot spots for California employers who want to know exactly how much caregiver burnout is costing them.

Here is what the 90 days looks like.

We deploy CareBridge across your workforce. Every employee who is managing caregiving responsibilities...a parent with dementia, a child with special needs, a spouse recovering from surgery, completes a clinical-grade burnout assessment using validated instruments. Not a pulse survey. Not a mood check. A real measurement tool built on research.

At the end of 90 days, your HR team receives three things. An organization-wide Caregiver Risk Index showing exactly what percentage of your workforce is at elevated burnout risk and where the pressure is concentrated. An executive ROI summary that translates that risk into dollar figures your CFO can read. And compliance documentation your legal and benefits team can use for tax credit applications, insurance premium negotiations, and SHRM employer caregiver recognition.

You find out what is actually happening inside your workforce. You get data you can act on. And you walk into your next benefits review with numbers instead of assumptions.

Pilot pricing starts at $20,000. For an organization with 500 employees, that is $40 per employee to understand a liability that is already bleeding your budget. The average caregiver employee costs their employer $5,600 per year in lost productivity, missed days, and distracted hours at their desk. When burnout crosses the threshold into resignation, that number jumps to $40,000 or more to recruit, hire, and train a replacement, and that assumes you can find one. A single prevented resignation pays for this pilot twice over. The question is not whether you can afford to measure this. It is whether you can afford another year of managing it blind.

We are targeting employers with 300 to 1,500 employees in California. If that is you, the next step is a 20-minute demo.

73% of your employees are managing caregiving responsibilities outside of work right now. Caring for a parent, a child with a disability, a spouse with a chronic illness. They are showing up, but they are burning out. And it is costing your organization an average of $5,600 per affected employee every year in absenteeism, turnover, and lost productivity. That is not a wellness statistic. That is a balance sheet problem.

California employers are now operating under paid family leave mandates, expanding caregiver leave protections, and emerging SHRM employer caregiver rankings. The compliance window is not years away. It is now. And most HR departments are trying to manage this exposure with zero data.

CareBridge fixes that.

We are a workforce analytics platform that measures caregiver burnout risk inside your employee population before it becomes a resignation, a leave claim, or a productivity gap you cannot explain. We use validated clinical instruments, not pulse surveys. Your HR team gets a Caregiver Risk Index report, an executive ROI summary, and compliance documentation you can actually use.

We are currently accepting 3 to 5 California employers for a 90-day paid pilot. Full workforce assessment. Burnout index report. Cost impact analysis. Everything your leadership team needs to see the problem and start solving it.

If you have 300 to 1,500 employees and you have never measured caregiver burden in your workforce, this pilot was built for you.

Maryland last week. Colorado this month. North Carolina. Federal Medicaid. Congress.
Caregiver workforce policy is fracturing across the country at the same time.
$1 trillion cut from federal Medicaid over the next 10 years. States scrambling to close billion-dollar budget gaps on the backs of the people providing care. Proposed wage cuts, hour caps, eligibility tightening. And starting in 2027, work requirements that could strip insurance from an estimated 8 million unpaid caregivers who aren't "working," because they're providing round-the-clock care at home.
Here's what that means for employers:
Every caregiver who loses a paid support system absorbs that labor themselves. They're still showing up to work. They're just doing it exhausted, distracted, and one crisis away from calling out permanently.
73% of your workforce is a current or future unpaid caregiver. You can't see which ones are burning out. You don't have data on the cost until they're already gone.
The policy environment isn't creating this problem. It's accelerating one that was already inside your workforce.
CareBridge gives HR teams the measurement infrastructure to see caregiver burnout risk before it becomes turnover. That's not a wellness pitch. It's a workforce risk argument with a deadline.
If you're managing a workforce of 300 or more people, this is worth a 20-minute conversation.

I spent 20 years in the Air Force managing logistics operations, contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and teams across multiple continents.

When I retired, I went back to school for counseling because I wanted to understand people the way I understood systems. After that master's, I pursued an EMBA at Cal State East Bay.

That combination of organizational thinking and human behavior is what led me to build Bay Valley Health.

We are diverse:

First, we work with employers to identify and address caregiver burnout in their workforce. Right now, millions of working Americans are quietly managing the care of a loved one while trying to show up fully at work. Most employers have no way to see it coming until someone is already out the door.

Second, we support federal and government contracting through SAM.gov. With two decades of military contracting experience, including serving as a Contracting Officer Representative on contracts exceeding $400M, we help organizations navigate the government marketplace and deliver on federal requirements.

If you run a business, manage a team, work in HR, or are exploring government contracting opportunities, I would love to have a real conversation about how we can help.

No pitch, just a conversation. DM me or drop a comment below.

(Fellow veteran entrepreneurs, always happy to connect on that front too.)

πŸ†πŸ…3rd place at the CSU East Bay WIL Demo Lab 2026.

Team Bay Valley Health presented CareBridge and walked away with additional seed funding and continued business advisement from the Smith Center for Private Enterprise Studies.

Five people, five weeks, a live deployed product that measures caregiver burnout and gives employers the tools to act on it. Seven teams competing. We held our own.

Proud of this team. Grateful to the judges, the WIL Forum, and the Smith Center. Already focused on what is next.
