20/20 vision does not mean your eyes are perfect! 👁️
Many people assume that having 20/20 vision means they have flawless eyesight, but that's a common misconception. 20/20 vision simply means you can see clearly at 20 feet what should normally be seen at that distance.
As your trusted optometrists, we want you to know that while 20/20 is considered "normal" vision, you can still have conditions like astigmatism or nearsightedness—even if you see well on a standard vision chart.
Your distance vision may be excellent, but you could still have trouble focusing up close or far away, or experience issues like color blindness or poor night vision.
So while 20/20 vision is a great sign, it doesn't mean your eyes are perfect. Regular comprehensive eye exams are still the best way to protect your vision and detect problems early!
