I had Childbirth PTSD after giving birth to my daughter. Studies estimate that 1 in 4 women suffer from this and many people, including doctors are not familiar with how it happens and how to heal it, mostly minimizing it as post partum issues that will go away with time. Recovering from a traumatic childbirth has taught me a lot about trauma and maternal mental health. I actually wrote my masters thesis on it.
