My lower back AND my knees⦠Even though I wasn't a huge Britney fan, I have to admit that I felt this song in my soul.
But for real, if stairs, squats, or getting up off the floor feel harder than they used to, it is not just age. It's also muscle loss affecting your joints. I know.lifting weights is hard. You will feel sore and if you are doing it right, it should be challenging but women over 40, I need you to understand someting.
Muscle = longevity!
During perimenopause women lose lean muscle faster. And less muscle around your hips and thighs means your joints have less support, less shock absorption, and more pain.
Strong muscles protect your joints. That is not an opinion, this isn't a trend, this is research. And strength training is one of the most powerful tools you have to preserve muscle, reduce knee pain, and keep moving well after 40. πͺπΎ
