What an AMAZING day at our Cruisin’ Through Summer Block Party! 🚗☀️ Our residents, families, friends, and community came together for an afternoon packed with fun and plenty of memories.

We had 45 incredible antique and classic cars, a magician, snow cones, face painting, a petting zoo, caricature artist, local vendors, games, and SO much delicious food!

One of the best parts was seeing people of all ages enjoying the day together—our residents visiting with family, checking out the cars, meeting the animals, laughing at the entertainment, and simply enjoying a beautiful summer afternoon with our community.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us and to all of the staff, volunteers, vendors, car owners, and entertainers who helped make the day such a success!

Playing is important at any age! ❤️

Our residents recently spent the day at Alderbrook Park enjoying all the fun the park had to offer. We played miniature golf and co****le, reminisced around the fire, ate cotton candy, drank pink lemonade straight from the fountains, and took a ride around the park on the little train.

Active Living is about creating opportunities to play, connect, reminisce, explore, and keep experiencing life. Because no matter how many birthdays we celebrate, there should always be room to feel like a kid again!

Throwback to earlier this summer when we braved the rainy day and made our way to Astoria to visit the Columbia River Maritime Museum! ⚓ Our tour guide, Julia, taught us about fishing, canneries, bar pilots, shipwrecks, and so much more.

The weather eventually cleared up, and we enjoyed lunch by the museum’s boat pond, where we even learned how to operate remote-control sailboats!

Dr. Roy Torley normally gives a monthly science presentation for our residents, but this month he decided to put on a concert! 🎶 We learned about the history and traditions of the Ukrainian instrument, the bandura, and enjoyed an afternoon of unique and beautiful music.

Our talented Sewing Club has been hard at work creating these beautiful handmade quilts, which were proudly donated to Shriners Children’s Hospital. ❤️🪡

Each quilt represents the time, care, and compassion our residents put into this project, with the hope of bringing a little extra comfort to children and their families.

We’re so proud of our residents for using their talents to give back to the community, and thankful to everyone who donated fabric, volunteered their time, and helped make this project possible!

Our residents had an incredible adventure aboard the 7 Wonders of the Gorge Jet Boat Tour, taking in some of the Pacific Northwest’s most breathtaking scenery from the Columbia River. 🚤

From cruising beneath the iconic St. Johns Bridge to spotting waterfalls, tugboats, and towering cliffs, there was something to see around every turn. The sunshine, fresh air, and beautiful scenery made for a perfect day on the water!

Outings like these are a great opportunity to explore new places, share new experiences with friends, and make some great memories along the way.

A trip to the La Center Historical Museum! Our residents enjoyed exploring the photos, artifacts, and stories from La Center’s past. A special thank you to the museum volunteers for the warm welcome—and the lemon bars and coffee! ☕️

🌮 What a fiesta! 🎉

Our residents had a great time at Margaritas on the Patio! They enjoyed a Mexican-inspired meal, festive mocktails and specialty drinks, and even learned a few salsa dance moves. 💃

Our residents enjoyed a hands-on cooking class led by a nutritionist, learning how to prepare delicious anti-inflammatory meals! 🥗

Along the way, they picked up new recipes and helpful tips for incorporating healthy ingredients into everyday meals. Thank you to our nutritionist for a fun and informative afternoon!

Our residents had a great time touring Bullseye Glass and learning how glass frit is made! 🎨 It was fascinating to see the process up close and learn more about the craftsmanship behind this colorful material used by glass artists around the world.
